  2. Ostrovian law does not actually forbid abortions. Abortion services are not offered on the Ostrovian health service purely due to lack of demand. There is one private clinic on the island but they do not offer abortions either.
  3. The ability to have an abortion on-demand may be suspended in, quote, "Times of shortage or crisis." This is often interpreted to mean in times of a health crisis (such as a pandemic) or in times of population shortage (post-war or exodus crisis).
