The Dze-Nywan languages form a branch of the Dzenic languages, comprising the Core Dze and Nywan branches, which share several phonetic and grammatical traits that are not found in other branches or evolved much later, like Erucius' Law, which has pointed to their common origin. The branch is known for being the most conservative of all, as well as being the first to diverge from, the Dzenic languages, with it's proto-language being spoken around 55,000 years ago, diverging before the Late Dze Neolithic Collapse.
