The Jhu'kan Campaigns were a series of military conflicts between the rising Jhu'kan Empire and it's neighbouring states under the reign of Ka'sun I. The campaigns began at the onset of 7190 BR with the invasion of the city of Hemeros, part of the Lûxari City States, and the subsequent offensives deep into the territory of the Bör Kingdom and the First Dze Confederation, scoring a series of victories against their human enemies and only being stopped by the Dze at the latter years of the campaigns; all of this resulting in the establishment of the Jhu as the dominant human power and the collapse of the late siderolithic human societies to the north and east of Dzeia.
Background
Having established the Jhu'kan Empire as a proper political entity, Ka'sun I sought to rapidly expand his kingdom to control both the western coasts and later to extinguish the Dze and their allies. The reasoning behind this would be that, after the Thunderstride, the weaknesses of humans compared to the Dze in organization prompted the upcoming Ka'sun to divise a plan to conquer them an their allies. Having sent envoys to the lûxari bearing messages of alliance in peace and having them laughed out of the cities, the young emperor would make plans to conquer them as well, spending a decade preparing the forces to launch his attacks.
Lûxari campaign (7190-7188)
Marching his armies, totaling around 150,000 by modern estimates, towards the north in the Hammerfall Peninsula and the lûxari cities. Being decieved by the niremian general Aoles Namazoi into dividing his forces, the Lûxari faced Ka'sun in the Battle of Hemeros in where, against all odds, Ka'sun managed to hold his forces while he waited for this other army to arrive, eventually challenging Aoles to a duel in where he won, thus also winning the battle, later sacking the city and laying down its foundations. He would later move on and destroy the city of Niremia in retribution for Aoles' involvement in the war and would face the remnants of the lûxari cities in their cultural capital of Lûšar, again defeating them and ransacking it and several other cities before leaving the now barren coasts and hills of Hammerfall and going eastwards towards the lands of the Bör people.
First börin campaign (7188-7184)
Hearing of the news of the destruction of Lûxar, the King of the Bör, Tsenung II, decided against direct battle and rather pursued a strategy to slowly wear down the forces of the Jhu'kan, using their hill forts and mountain hideouts in the Greater Southern Range to remain out of reach of the armies of Ka'sun I, inflicting heavy casualties in failed sieges, until the emperor decided to instead strike at the capital of Bör Yam in a successfull taking of the city where the Börin king fell in battle, however being forced to retreat after the sieges were broken by the defenders and the flanks of the Jhu'kan became exposed. The new king, Namnung I, sent word to Tsotʿaan Tx̣eńat of the Dze requesting aid as his predecessor had failed to do.
Second börin campaign (7183)
Returning the next year to finish off the new king and having learned from the previous, bloody campaign, the Jhu'kan focused on sieging the forts and forcing the weakened Bör into a battle in the Tserín Valley, where, despite their defenses, the last formal resistance to Ka'sun was broken and the remnants of the Börin army fled to the lands of the Dze, where they would meet with the Dze army to organize a counter attack.
Dze Campaign (7182)
Much like during the Thunderstride, the Dze marched to the west in force and the Tsotʿaan forced Ka'sun to split his army, much like Aoles had done six years prior, crushing his secondary army at the Reed Marshes and then forcing the Jhu'kan into a chase towards the east where the young emperor would be handed his first proper military defeat at the Battle of Alx̣ḳyx near the Skypeak mountain, forcing his withdrawal from the east and the lands of the Börin Kingdom.
