Violant Claudia de Aultavilla, DAA EOV DSL (Margot-Violant Olympe Sibylla Claudia de Aultavilla; b. 18 August 1993) is a Sydalene socialite. She is the child of Latin Emperor Jason VI Augustus and Princess Sibylla of Sydalon, and the elder of the Emperor's two illegitimate children. Due to her illegitimacy, Violant is excluded from both Latin and Sydalene thrones.

Early life and education

Margot-Violant Olympe Sibylla de Aultavilla was born at Castela du Guiscardi, in Philipopolis, on 18 August 1993 to unwed mother Princess Sibylla of Sydalon. Due her mother being unmarried, Princess Sibylla resided in Philipopolis with her maternal grandparents throughout her pregnancy, which was kept secret. Her birth was eventually made public on 23 November 1993, where it was also revealed that Violant's father was Jason, Prince of Youth. Sibylla claimed that she and Jason first met in November 1992 at the wedding of Desiderius, Prince of Petra and Princess Eirene of Latium. King Jordan IX and Latin Empress Diana Augusta subsequently canceled an upcoming visit by Latin Imperial Family set for December 1993. Latin Emperor Jason VI Augustus acknowledged his paternity of Violant in June 1994 after private discussions with King Jordan IX and a rumored paternity test in December 1993. Violant visited Latium for the first time 1994, later being given the rank of "Lady" in April 1998. Since 1998, she has utilized Claudia de Aultavilla for her surname. She was made a Princess of Dakmoor by courtesy of her step-father's brother.

Violant was baptized into the Fabrian Catholic Church at Basilica of Christ the Savior, in Philipopolis, unlike traditional Sydalene royal baptisms which take place in the holy town of Kerkouane. Her godparents are King Jordan IX (her maternal grandfather), and Melisende of Philipopolis (her maternal grandmother). She was reportedly cherished by her grandfather according to courtiers, and who took care of all of Violant's needs. In January 1994, Violant and her mother relocated to the chief royal residence, Palis de Aultavilla, in Ostracine. Violant was spent her childhood between Latium, Dakmoor, and Sydalon. She has ten half-siblings from her mother's marriage to Baldakar of Dakmoor, and nine half-siblings from her father's family.

Education and military service

As a child, Violant was educated by private tutors hired by her grandfather Jordan. In 2001, she began attending private schooling at Liceiu Sant Belandra, in Ostracine. In 2007, she attended Lyceu ta'Aradia for secondary school, where her tuition was paid by her father. After completing prep school in 2011, Violant joined the Royal Army as a reserve member. She completed her compulsory two-month military training in October 2011. She remained a member of the reserve force for the next two years.

In 2013, Violant enrolled at City College of Alba, University of Castellum Iohannes XIII, after taking a gap year where she visited the city of Hauteville in Lyncanestria. She also visited Belfras, Eagleland, and Lihnidos. Her education was briefly interrupted immediately following the death of her father in November 2016 and the 2016 succession crisis, where she fled to the Sydalene embassy in Castellum. She graduated in spring 2017 with a focus on Dance and Cultural Studies, and earned employment at Latin-based fashion firm Allectii in fall 2017.

Personal life

Violant is noted for being fiercely private about her personal affairs, often refusing to take part in interviews. Violant has attended Ludi Circenses annually since 2000, and is known to frequent fashion shows, football and ice hockey matches. She is also a frequent traveler, having visited over 14 separate nations, and five different continents. She is said to be extremely close with her maternal half-siblings, and a very close friend with her paternal half-sister, Princess Maria of Latium, even serving as the maid-of-honor during Maria's January 2018 wedding.

Emperor Jason VI Augustus once spoke of Violant during a 2015 interview with RAL, where he described their relationship as a "constant work-in-progress", though said that they got along with one another very well. Jason also described Violant as a "sweet and intelligent girl" that he was proud to call his daughter.

While Sydalene is her native tongue, Violant is multi-lingual, holding fluency in Latin, Ghantish, and Outremeri. She can also speak Anglic, Hellenic with varying competency, and began learning Rezese in 2019. She holds dual citizenship in Latium and Sydalon.

Styles, honors, and arms

As the illegitimate child of a Latin sovereign, Violant did not receive any titles or honorifics upon her birth. In April 1998, she was granted the courtesy rank of Lady by her father, which she continues to hold today.
