Burhan Swanson is a Zamastanian politician who serves as the senator for Jade's 2nd district in Congressional Hall since 2004. He is a member of the Blue Conservative Party, and has served as both the Majority Whip (2014-20) and Minority Whip (2020-present) for the party. He previously served as the Congressman for Jade's 16th congressional district from 1986-2004. He unsuccesfully campaigned for President in 2006 against incumbant BCP President Cassious Castovia.

Born in Jade Harbor in 1952, Swanson's father Jasper Swanson was the owner of Jade Harbor FC, and Burhan was the heir to Castle Chicken, a popular chain of Zamastanian fast food restaurants. Upon starting his political career in 1986, however, Burhan passed his business ownerships to his extended family. Swanson holds conservative political positions, although he was known as a pragmatist and a moderate BCP early in his political career. He has led opposition to stricter campaign finance laws, opposed stronger gun control measures, and efforts to mitigate climate change. He has supported stronger border security, free trade agreements, reductions in taxes, and military involvement in Vulkaria, Ossinia, and West Chanchajilla.
