The Brytisc Rede is the name for the the collective government of Brytene. It is effectively a bicameral federal republic. The head of state, currently Bretwalda Cenwulf Teorell, is an elected official who serves for life or until deposed by a vote of no-confidence. The Witenagmot serves as the upper house, and must ratify any new bills or motions, whilst the Thegn Rede is the lower house and introduces new bills and motions.

Justice is administered by the Rihtgemot, the standing judiciary of Brytene, but in extreme cases the Witenagmot can act as a final court of appeal.

All other personnel are employed directly by the Brytisc Rede or one of its civil service branches, which are collectively responsible for a range of duties from drivers licensing to tax collection.
