Bureau (Slethar)

The Imperial seal

The term Bureau (Sletharine: Βυρηα) is the main government unit on the imperial level in the Empire of Slethar. Each bureau is focused on an one field of subject, and is tasked with carrying out the duties of that field of subject or to delegate that power to lower authorities.

Control

All bureaus are technically subservient to the Emperor, but in effect, the most control is excercised by the quorums, or in rarer cases, the Thringat or the Imperial Circle.

Local administration

While most of the bureaus operate on a Imperium-wide scale, some, most notably the Administration Bureau, Agrarian Bureau, Educational Bureau and the Medical Bureau, delegate their power to the local authorities. Each municipality has a "Local Bureau" building, where the local branches of many of those bureaus reside, allowing for local citizens to maintain some sort of local communication with the central authority, and allowing for a better recordkeeping for the reasons of taxation.
