The Tengarian Solidus (Tengarian: Солидус тенгарски or Solidus Tengarski), also known in common use as the Solz or Sołydź, is the primary currency of Tengaria. The Solidus has its roots in several historical currencies, as the Soldius was a late coin of the Solarian Empire which became the primary coin of the Empire of Arciluco for centuries. Although it later fell out of favor to the Perperum, Emperor Vasil the Great reintroduced the name for his new currency. Although later Emperors would introduce more currencies, in XXXX it would again be the name for the official currency, giving the origin to the modern Solidus. After being placed under the control of the Bank of Tengaria in 1935, it would suffer a decline in value during the post-war decades. Monetary reform under Simeon Kovachev in 1958 would again confirm the status of Solidus to its present state.
It is one of the only currencies in the world which is not decimilised, instead using a sexagesimal system for its subdivisions, of which there are four. The most basic subdivision is the Edna (Ɇ), which is 1⁄60 of a Solidus, with other larger subdivisions at fractions closer to the unit. Its value is determined according to a managed float regime, usually valuing between the Euclo and the Soravian Zolota.

Coins
Each of the designs on the coins reflect the Coats of Arms of the six historic regions of Tengaria, which comprise the contemporary prefectures. Although there are six regions, both Istria and Calia use an eagle, and so are represented on the same coin.
