Prior to the 2021 contest, Gapolania had participated in the contest 21 times, making its debut in 1995. ''Festival della Canzione'' was a prominent music festival organized since 1981, an established cultural event that served as a tool to promote new artists and Gapolanese music. Starting in 1996, the winner of the festival was also granted a possibility to represent the country in the Euclovision Song Contest, though twice, in 1997 and 2001, the winners declined. Gapolanese choices achieved different results in the contest - the country managed to end in the Top 10 on three times but also failed to qualify for the final on several occasions. The nation has yet to win the contest.
Prior to the 2021 contest, Gapolania had streamed the contest since 2013. Invitations for the Asterian members to participate in the contest were issued by the Euclean Broadcasting Union in the mid-2010s and the Gapolanese broadcaster decided to debut during the 2021 edition.

==At Euclovision==
Euclovision 2021 was the first edition in which Gapolania took part. The country's Head of Delegation (HoD), Enrico Alvema, ensured that the crew arrived in Gaullica a week before the contest, allowing them to conduct all possible rehearsals.
The contest was broadcasted by the [[RTG (Gapolania)|RTG 1]] - due to time difference, the live show was streamed in the morning, resulting in a relatively low audience - nationwide approximately 135 thousands people viewed the contest.
Alina Sefardù performed in the Euclovision final in Lavelle, Gaullica, on 24th April 2021. Her performance was directed by Nadia Sergenza - Sefardù was accompanied by two dances and a flautist. She finished 17th, scoring 69 points.

At Euclovision

Euclovision 2021 was the first edition in which Gapolania took part. The country's Head of Delegation (HoD), Enrico Alvema, ensured that the crew arrived in Gaullica a week before the contest, allowing them to conduct all possible rehearsals.

The contest was broadcasted by the RTG 1 - due to time difference, the live show was streamed in the morning, resulting in a relatively low audience - nationwide approximately 135 thousands people viewed the contest.

Alina Sefardù performed in the Euclovision final in Lavelle, Gaullica, on 24th April 2021. Her performance was directed by Nadia Sergenza - Sefardù was accompanied by two dances and a flautist. She finished 17th, scoring 69 points.
