The 2023 Women's World Cup, also called the 2023 Varšava Women's World Cup, was an international football tournament contested by women's national teams which took place between 18th July through August 8th, 2023 in Varšava, Zoygaria. It was the 28th Women's World Cup tournament and involved 32 teams, of which all came through qualifying competitions at the start of the event from an original 64 national teams. The tournament was postponed for a week due to the passing of Anean female footballer Larissa Bauer, who was set to compete on her national team.
The opening ceremony in Varšava included a tribute to Bauer, and the New Anean national team and Bauer's ZWSL team, the Nanaimo Current, joined hands during the moment of silence.
