The Matriarchal Society of Choslow (English: /Chaus·lowː/), is a coastal nation on the east coast of Pelia. The Matriarchal Society of Choslow's closest mainland neighbor is to the north Juta, and the closest neighbor to the south are Nova Solarius. The lands of the Matriarchal Society of Choslow are rich of variety of colorful flora, like the Purple Snapphoenix and the Thunderous Bat Flowers. The capital and second-largest city of the Matriarchal Society of Choslow is Dziewanna. Wenecja is the largest city and filled with the most history, having been inhabited continuously since 284AR. The majority religion is of Fliblisha.

History

Founding

The Choslish were a nomadic people that traveled along most of the eastern and northern areas of Pelia for most of their beginning years, hence most knowledge and records of such time have been lost to history. All that we know from such a time is that they were traders and merchants by choice, and earned most of their supplies like that with various clans and tribes in what will become modern-day Choslow.

We are not sure why they will eventually decide to settle, but they will in the year 270 along the peninsula, and will establish the first city of the Queendom of Choslow, Wenecja. This settlement's first years of existence will be turbulent and full of strife. The Choslish people's upbringing as merchants and traders, most of them did not know how to farm or hunt to a large degree. It was not till a few years later that through diplomatic means the Queendom of Choslow decided to form a union with the Crystallic people, which would bring the advent of farming and proper building structures. This joining will bring the first steps of civilization to this nation that still to this time has been ruled by a council of elders.

The First Queen Rises

It wasn't till the year 280 that viable candidates were sorted on who should run this country by the council of elders. The prime candidates were from the three largest families of the Choslish people and the former head of the Crystallic people. These candidates were in order of power at that time; the head of the richest and largest family that controlled and conducted most interactions during the nomadic period Plutui Poklons'ka, the heavy militarist Ganiu Sarkipet who trained and commanded the majority of the armed forces of the nation for the last ten years, the current leader of the Fliblisha Covenant Ornyvnu Fabkhys, and the former head of the Crystallic group, Lumari Solaria.

The process of choosing the head of this new nation was through a variety of means and tests. Each had its own individual council member to support them, along with significant backing from the people. It came down to various trials of leadership, diplomacy, and strategy, and with a hidden fourth trial that none knew of except the council at that time. As the trials progressed through, the divide between those that were worthy and blessed by the Goddesses was obvious with Plutui and Lumari taking a lead with Ganiu just behind. Ornyvnu wasn't trying to win, just more to have the spotlight on her for a time. By the time the fourth trial came up, it was a fairly even chance for each candidate, but the favorite was still Plutui since that was the most familiar option to the people. The last trial was to be exiled from the city and establish your own city and get it to a point of prosperity within four years. Each candidate could only bring 100 women and men, and enough tools and food to survive a season without setting anything up.

At this point, only three candidates were still in the running, Plutui, Ganiu, and Lumari. Ornyvnu had bowed out a time back when hearing of such a trial, for the Goddesses had said she should stay and make sure the fledgling nation would stay together, and the fact of having to give up her Sparklian pleasure. The three candidates would proceed to go and form the cities in this order Ryba, Solnechnyy, and finally Dziewanna. After four years time, the council elders went out to visit each city without knowing who made each one in secrecy. After much deliberation, they had come to a winner. They called for the three candidates to gather as will be the location of the Grand Apotheosis that will be built centuries later. The council will later claim the city of Dziewanna is the most prosperous city they have seen out of the three, and with that, they declared Lumari of the House Solaria the new Queen of Choslow. With this declaration, the future of Choslow was set with first the capital being moved to Dziewanna, and the other cities and the land in between declaring fealty to Queen Lumari.

The Megaran Renaissance

The Megaran Renaissance is named as such by the three rulers of the time, all being named Megara. The years were characterized by growth in many realms and the quality of living would improve tenfold under the reign of each of the Megaras. The Megaran Renaissance would last for about 127 years starting from the start of the rule of Megara I in 523AD and ending in the death of Megara III in 650AD. Each of the Megaras would be remembered throughout history and have left an impact that is still around to this day.

During the era of Megaran the worlds of poetry, theater, and literature were greatly expanded upon during the first Megara. Megara I is credited with writing over 1000 different poems and short stories about and to her lover and wife, Diana Krzysztofa. The most famous poem from that time was the poem Megara I made for Diana on the eve of their fiftieth-year anniversary of being together. It was called On the Still Pond of the Heart. This poem is still one of the most popular poems to date and is read at the start of every Fleur Day to commemorate their love and the love of every future generation.

The Age of Megaran continues with Megara II, who expanded the realm of civil rights. Before Megara II, citizens who were male identifying didn't have the right to own property or weapons. It was also considered extremely illegal and taboo for male-identifying people to use the magic of any kind unless it was of the Third House. Megara II saw much injustice in excluding a whole other set of people based alone on gender. The establishment of the Equality for All laws, it made it so all male-identifying people may enjoy the same rights as female-identifying people. Megara II would continue to advocate for more equal treatment of all genders and people.

The Age of Megaran last Megara was one that funded and exploded the realms of naval and magical worlds of combat and use. Megara III would fund and commission multiple boats to help wrestle control of the sea and develop dominance of the waves, which has been ever elusive since the foundation of Choslow. After many years of forming a naval empire and being able to establish communications and trade routes with neighbors far and wide, Megara III wanted to improve upon the Octonary which had become stagnated at the time and had been mostly forgotten about after the initial establishment by Lumaria I. She would find and set aside a state allowance for all eight houses of the Octonary, as well as make separate buildings to help cultivate each unique typing. As well as founding the Lumaria Citadel of Magic, which if found to be within the top 1000 of any individual house would be made to go there to focus on cultivating the skills further and the chance the elite magic corps of Choslow; Daybreakers, Nightmares, Heartbreakers, Riptides, Starwings, Boomins, Flarians, Puppetmasters.

The Dual Sun Union

The Dual Sun Union was a shortlived union between The Matriarchal Society of Choslow and The Federal Republic of Nova Solarius with the marriage between Sławomira I Solaria and Maximae I Juna Celestius. During this period it brought increased relations and the intermingling of cultures between the two nations.

The 7 Queen Revolt (1035AD-1054AD)

The 7 Queen Revolt in Choslow was a tumultuous and protracted civil war that engulfed the nation, leaving an indelible mark on its history. It was a period of intense power struggle, intricate alliances, and shifting loyalties as seven factions vied for control of Choslow in the wake of the collapse of the Solaria dynasty, after the last ruler died without ever having a partner. Lasting for a grueling 19 years, the conflict led to immense bloodshed, political intrigue, and societal upheaval.
