The Social Democratic Party of Mascylla (SDP, Hesurian: Sozialdemokratische Partei Maskilliens) is a social democratic political party in Mascylla. It forms the catch-all-party of the left politics in the Mascyllary government. The first predecessors of the party include the General Workers' Council (Allgemeiner Arbeiterrat) and the Social Democratic Workers' Party (Sozialdemokratische Arbeiterpartei) in 1859, that merged into the Social Proletarian Party (Sozialistische Proletariatspartei) in 1870, renamed into simply the Proletariatspatei in 1879. The current name was adopted in 1897 and remains the second oldest existant party in Mascylla, after the National Democrats.
The SDP is currently led by Daniel Gerlach, who is the current Minister of the Realm, having served under under a SDP prime minister, Konrad Folln, as Minister of Agriculture of the Realm beforehand, and Susanne Höpken, prime ministerial candidate for the 2016 Mascyllary election.
