The IFA World Cup is the largest footballing event in Anteria. Hosted every two years by different nations, the World Cup has been on since 1888, however the 1905-1910 World Cups were cancelled due to the ongoing Great War at the time. The World Cup is important to Anterian culture and national relations.

History

The first World Cup was played in Judapest, modern capital of Lyonheimer, and competed in most nations at the time. The final was played by Kentalis who won 3-1, making history for the first ever World Cup win.

As news spread of global conflict in Anteria, the IFA confirmed the World Cup would be cancelled until further notice in 1905. When the war ended in 1911, the World Cups resumed with the World Cup 1912.

In 1918, Halsuntria, an extremely successful team on the national stage, wins the world cup for the first time.

In 1930, Gavrilia, the most successful team in World Cup history, wins their first World Cup in a 2-2 penalty win over Halsuntria.
