However at anytime the participants may decide to not follow through with the agreement without any legal repercussions. 	Marriage is officialized by a Shaman in a ritual with the two participating families with the presence of the T'aan as the main witness and the Shaman being the spiritual witness. A candle is lit inside a lantern to signify their union, being replenished every month to signify the continued union. Arranged marriages usually happen between families of T'aan, but their completion is ultimately up to the betrothed and only if both parties wish to marry. Divorce occurs extremely rarely, but it must be done in a standard procedure where the Shaman and T'aan go to the couple, the T'aan officializing the Divorce as the Shaman extinguishes the candle.
