The President (Lec: prezydenit) is the head of government of Lecistan. The President is appointed by the Grand Duke, the head of state, and is normally the leader of the majority political party. Five offices of President have existed: the presidency of the First Lecistani Republic from 1945 to 1947, the presidency of the People's Republic of Lecistan from 1945 to 1947, the presidency of the Lec Social Republic in 2015, the presidency of the Second Lecistani Republic from 2015 to 2016, and the presidency of the Grand Duchy of Lecistan created in 1965.
The current President is Łukôsz Grzéskowicz, who was elected president in an emergency election held on on July 5, 2016.
Nomination and duties
According to the Constitution of Lecistan, the President is appointed after an election every five years, with the Grand Duke's permission. Between 1965 and 2015, the presidential term was ten years in length.
The President oversees the Royal Chamber and holds executive authority in Lecistan.
