The Solarian Baseball League (Tengarian: Liga Basibile Solarne), known as the LBS or SBL, is a professional baseball organisation based in Tengaria. Founded in 1921, it was one of the first Euclean baseball leagues established, and is the oldest professional sporting league in Tengaria. Although play was suspeneded from 1929 until 1935, the league has been continuously operating since 1935.

Traditional bat-and-ball games, such as Oină and Rombila, were very popular in the country even before the arrival of baseball. The introduction of baseball from Rizealand and Senria planted the seeds, and the introduction of baseball at the 1914 Invictus Games and its inclusion in the 1918 Summer Invictus Games hosted by Tengaria in Lenovo caused the popularity of the sport to take off in the country. The increase in popularity in the sport eventually led to the foundation of the league in 1921.

The league is comprised of 16 teams divided into two autonomous leagues, the Gold League and the Silver League, playing a total of 90 games between the end of May and the beginning of September.

Name

The name, the "Liga Basibile Solarne", the "League of Solarian Baseball" or "Solarian League Baseball", was adopted during period the Empire of Tengaria, still when "Tengaria" was largely an exonym, as most considered themselves ethnic "Solarians". However, some sources outside Tengaria call it the Tengarian Baseball League instead, based on the exonym or the current country name.
