The '''Southern Quenminese Breakthrough''' (13 November 1940 - 4 January 1941) was an attempt of the Quenminese [[17th Army]] to breakthrough and escape the pocket created following the [[Battle of the Ulchin Causeway]]. Field Marshal [[Hồ Danh Sĩ Quốc]] attempted to use the Busan Road to escape. There were 3 escape routes over the [[Nahae River]] However, Concordian artillery shelling destroyed the railroad bridge, leaving only 2 routes for the Quenminese and Hamyong forces to escape to. The end of the battle saw only 2/5ths of the Quenminese forces in the pocket escape with the rest of the remaining 50,000 surrendering, the biggest Quenmiense surrender throughout the [[Third Joyonghean-Quenminese War]]. | |||
