Preisland (Apelian: Pays-Preis; Vierz: Preißland), officially the Republic of Preisland (Apelian: République de Pays-Preis; Vierz: Republik Preißland), is a country on the Cercian coast of South Artalia. It is bordered to the west by Remeria, to the southwest by Villera, and to the south by Vonzumier. Preisland's capital and largest city is Crimnitz. With an estimated population of 17.8 million in 2019, the country is the fifth-largest in South Artalia.
Preisland was inhabited by various indigenous groups, such as the Nullya, for thousands of years. In 1499, the land was discovered by the Vierz explorer Hermann Preiss, and in 1510 was claimed by Apelia and incorporated into its colonial empire as Pays de Preis. The land was sparsely settled by Patyrian colonists, who used it primarily for sugar cane cultivation, resulting in the importation of hundreds of thousands of black Tusolan slaves.
