The Arachnid Drug War is an ongoing Low-intensity conflict between world government against various crime syndicates and drug cartels involved with the illegal trafficking of the drug known as Arachnid, which was created by Imperial scientist Rupprecht Grünspan, also known as Deathshead, during the Imperial Crisis. The conflict emerged following the Imperial Crisis, which was ended after a 2 year conflict with the assassination of Imperial Emperor Maximillian III. Without an heir to the throne, the crown was passed to his exiled brother, Louis Ferdinand von Reginrave following the take over of the Imperial Government by the Gneisenau Circle.

Following Maximillian III's death, Grünspan fled from East Europa for fear of being hunted down by the new transitional Imperial government. He fled to the Ruzhite Empire where he began to distribute his drug to potential customers. One of which became the Ruzhite Mafia, who began to traffic and distribute it to its contacts. The drug would prove to be highly addictive than other drugs that the Ruzhite government would immediately place a ban on the drug and began a crackdown on the users of it. However, the government failed to contain the spread that by early-November, the illegal drug trade had already reached worldwide.

With the rise of the illegal use of Arachnid, largely youth and low-income sectors, various world governments coordinated counter-narcotics and counter-criminal operations which proved largely successful.
