Nova Solarius, officially the Federal Republic of Nova Solarius, is a Isle nation that consisted the Island of Solais, and all the islands in the Celestial Island Chain in the Magna Sea. The population of 100 Million is mostly situated in the cities of Solarius. The capital of Nova Solarius is the city of Sol. The nation was founded in 12BGD by Solus I, who was stranded on the island after falling from the heavens. The nation was ruled by a mix of Roman & Korean cultures, The nobles and the city was inspired by Roman culture while the lower middle class & peasants were more influenced by Korean culture. It wasn't until 247, that Rexovis Taejo I ascended to the throne, making him the first Korean to become King. The Kingdom of Nova Solarius lasted for over 2,200 years, ending with the Revolution, which made the Emperor a ceremonial figurehead, with the Celestial Chancellor becoming head of Government.

The Nation of Solarius has had military victories over its neighbors from the Azaki Tribe to Kingdom of Zōsenia to even the Faelo Kingdom. Solarius had a military record of being the most powerful nation in the Magna Region. The Solarian people preferred isolationism, but the Kings wanted expansion over the land near them. It was around 277GD that all the islands were under Solarius control. After this, there would be a period of Peace called Pax Insulae.

The Feast of Apollo is the longest surviving holiday in Solarius, starting in 1BGD, it has been a popular holiday, and many flocked to see the fireworks and shows during the Holiday. The Celestial Pax is a holiday that celebrated the founder of Solarius, Solus I, and the rest of the Royal Family. The Guardian of Life is a celebration for dead relatives and to remember & celebrate them when they have left the world. It is the oldest secular holiday in Solarius, starting in 197GD, it was after a catastrophic event that left 1,000 people dead.

During the late 18th century, the Imperium Solarius was declared by Jae-Seo VI which had a period of peace and prosperity as well as expansionism and imperial rule. It was also during this time that democracy increased during the Imperium period, with the Senate having a bigger role in government and the introduction of free speech. Multiple Wars were fought against Solarian neighbors but alliances were also formed to provide stability in the Magna Region and Ilus.

During the 20th Century, off-worlders had arrived on the planet, and the War of Space started against these invaders and the Solarian People. It was after this war, that technology advanced rapidly, and living conditions improved in the 1950-1990s Era or the Progression Era. Many in Solarius wanted a stronger military after the war, and soon, it became one of the strongest militaries in the world.

The Island of Solais & Zavis is the economical beating heart of the Republic, with both urbanism and the ecosystem living in harmony. Many call this the Progressivum or Progressive City.

Geography

Geology, topography and hydrography

The Solarian Tectonic plate surrounds the island nation, with it starting on the coast of Pelia to the Mountains of the Equatorial Archipelago. The last tectonic plates movement was 500 years ago when the city of Delmore was destroyed by an avalanche of Rocks coming down on the small town. The Sirene Mountains are the highest point in Nova Solarius, Mount Apollous, in the Sirene Mountain Range. The Vexius Plain consisted of the Island of Zavis, which is where the capital is located, surrounded by the Solus Sea, & the coastal area on the main island surrounding the Magna Sea. These were the fertile lands that kept the nation of Solarius alive for centuries. The Highest point of Solais Island is Mount Xia, which is about 1050m, this makes it the third tallest Mountain in all of Nova Solarius.

There are two rivers on Solais, the Magnum Flumen or Great River, that drains from the snow of Mount Xia. The Southern river is named 크리스탈 리버 (keuliseutal libeo) or Crystal River, named for its copious amount of crystals found near it. These rivers drain into the Solus Sea.

The island chain that Solarius resides in is the Celestial Island Chain. These islands are the oldest in the world, formed thousands of years ago. The islands of Zavis and Solais are sometimes combined to form Solavis in a way to describe the main islands that Solarius was formed from.

Environment

The Environment of Nova Solarius is a mix of sub-tropical to temperate forest and plains. With mountainous & desert terrain on the East side of the nation. Much of the farmland is on the far West side on the continent of Pelia.

Nova Solarius is made up of 22 States. The history of these states will be described in order.
1. Grand State of Solar: Was a State formed after the unification of Solavis under Solus I reign in 7BGD. This is where the Capital, Sol, is located.
2. Xais: The state is named after Mt. Xia (Solaren: Mt. Xais), where the longest river in Solavis starts from and drains into the Solus Sea.
3. Crytolis: Named after the Crystal River (Orientis: 크리스탈 리버) where most of the Crystal industry is located.
4. Gohyang: This state is where the ancestors of the Orientisan people, called the Seiong-jin, lived for a millennium before becoming the Orientisan.
5. Zōsenika: This state is where the Kingdom of Zōsenia was located and ruled for 353 years until the end of the 4th Second Zosenia-Solarian War when Solarius annexed the Kingdom after the defeat of Bay of Maws. It was incorporated as a Kingdom-State, where the Ankoku Royal Family ruled as Sovereign (Zōseniaka: 主権者/Shukenja). It was established in its current form in 1775GD under the Act of Federal States.
6. Faesol-Daegol: This is a state consisting of the islands of Faesol and Daegol, which were under the rule of the Faelo Kingdom for 295 Years until the 3rd Fae-Sol War. It is ruled as the Grand Princedom of Faesol-Daegol and was established in its current form in 297GD.
7. Vaux: This island would be the last in the Celestial Island Chain to be incorporated into the Kingdom of Solarius on April 22nd, 277GD. It is ruled by a Praefectus and its current form was established in 1775GD under the Act of Federal States.
8. Equila: This is the state where the oldest democracy was founded in Ilus. It is a semi-autonomous state with only foreign relations and trade managed by the Government of Solarius.
9. Motuasima Confederacy: Is an autonomous Confederacy within the Federal Republic of Nova Solarius. It is home to the Motusian people and the ethnic makeup of Motuasima is 99% Motusian and 1% Other. It was created during the Act of Federal States in 1775GD.
10. Sirenea State: This is the first state created on the main island of Ilus in 1775 in its current form. The State is named after the Sirene Mountains in Ilus.
11. Eazim: This state was first created in 1775GD and is home to the Eazimi people. It is important to Nova Solarius because of its rich oil fields that make up 92% of daily old production in Nova Solarius.
12. Peruva: This is the largest State in Nova Solarius. It is home to the Inipuv People and is one of the main suppliers of Banana and Grapes. This state was formed in 1775GD
13. Kavanah: This state was founded for a religious and ethnic minority of people called the Kavanahian. This was to make sure that their culture could thrive and not be disrupted. This state's Prefect has always been a Kavanahian since 1775GD.
14. Akhet: Home of the Akiut people, the state is similarly the size of the old Akhet Kingdom in Nova Antiquity. The state itself was established in 1775GD.
15. Iteru: Once a part of the Akhet state, it was established as a different state in 1901GD when riots broke out over the unfair treatment of the powerful elite Akiutians. Iteru is where a lot of minerals like gold and iron are mined.
16. Nov Pelia: Home to the first Solarian settlement on the Continent of Pelia in 1545 under Solus XV, with his final act proclaiming the city of Hatáváros. It was originally a Royal Home Territory, under the administration of the Royal Household. This lasted until 1709 when it was handed over to a citizen government after an Act was passed in the Senate. In 1775, it was recognized as a State under the Act of Federal States. Nov Pelia's biggest industry is commercial goods production, but is very urbanized around the coast.
17. Miejsce Zboża: Founded as a state in 1775, it is home to one of the biggest Choslowish diaspora in Sparkalia.

History

Ancient times

The Isles were inhabited by Homo-Sapiens tribesmen by 100,000BGD. The people on Solais Island had been experienced craftsmen and weapon constructures not found anywhere else on the world. The development of advanced agriculture and architecture & complex societies were all over the island, with the earliest society founded around 5,000BGD, the Xais Dynasty. While on the inland Island, the Velzo Kingdom was founded around 5,000BGD. The city of Venuo was the most complex city and archaeological site in all of Solavis. The south of the island was the Seiong-jin Tribe which were hunters and fishermen & were the ancestors of the Orientisan of today.

During the 11th Century- 8th Century BGD, the civilizations all developed tool and objects around the same time. The each island did have their own specific resources that other islands did not have. The civilization on the island of Equila had plenty of gold reserves, providing jewel making and coin minting. They were the first civilization to have coins as currency in the region. The Faesol-Daegol civilization had invented rope and string for building their settlements and making the tallest human-made structure in the Pre-historic era until 5BGD.

The Saius Civilization of the massive Island of Aequator was founded near the Dire River and had been hunter-gatherers & nomadic tribesmen. They were founded to be master architectures, with their tents being wind resistant due to the storms on the island, still found in the Calvors State of Nova Solarius. The smaller but just as important Vauxian people on the large Island of Vaux were great at farming and food preservation, creating the first 'refrigerated' process to delay food rotting, which made for better meals and a wealthier society. The Kingdom of Vauxis was the last island to fall during the Isle Wars (5BGD-277GD) in which the capital of Vaux, Xios, held out for 2 years due to ample food supply and storage. It was the longest siege during the Isle Wars.

The Faelin Civilization, the two predominately tribes were the Kiji & Raui Tribes. They were important to the measurements used in Nova Solarius, the Grae Measurements, used by the Faelin tribes of both islands of Faesol & Daegol. They also were the only civilizations until antiquity to use chariots pulled by Horses. The Daegol people were into archery & were masters at horse archery, and were recruited by the Kingdom of Solarius during times of war. The Equila Republic was the only republic in the Celestial Island Chain, and was a key ally for Faelo during the Fae-Sol Wars. The Equila Republic was an ally with Faelo but became allies with Nova Solarius after the defeat of Faelo in 197GD.

There was one other predominately civilization, though not on the main island of Solais, they were on the island south of Solais, named Telcor, where the Zōsenia Civilization had been and thrived, and was good at navigating the seas and ocean, having even reached the West Coast of Pythia, with ancient artifacts from the Zōsenia Civilization with bows and swords only native to the island because of the unusual shape, they were very disquisitional from other Pythian tribes.

The Estimated population of Pre-Solus Civilization was around 100,000 by 1,000BGD. Due to the limited land area, the population couldn't go more than 1 million and had reached that population by 550BGD.

The Founding of Sol

In the Autumn of 20BGD, Solus Celestia fell from the Heavens, and landed on the Island of Sol, then called the island of Haijo, now modern Zavis, and began conversing with the population. He used his charisma to sway the leaders of the villages on the Island to form one united City. By 15BGD, the Elders agreed and appointed him the Chief Elder of the city. It was 3 years later, on October 15 12BGD, that he was proclaimed King of Sol. He started building projects all around the city and developed architecture that was resembling the Old Roman Structures. It soon began the biggest construction of a city for 10 years, and was the biggest Solarius ever seen for 500 years. The streets were laced with Marble Roads, and drainage systems never have seen before on the island. This level of engineering was almost impossible for those people in the Antiquity Age, but it was done by the mind of Solus, and the Strength of Greco Julus. Solus didn't prioritize the palace, instead, he wanted the the citizens to be sheltered first. During the Construction, Solus stayed in a luxurious Apartment called the "Holy Room". This Apartment is the oldest building in Solus as of 2195. The houses had brick roofs and white walls with different color strips that each resident picked for their homes. Most had chimneys, but they were just vents to the outside. The Celestial Palace was built in 5BGD and was the official residence of Kings/Emperors of Solarius. The roads were built with cobblestone bricks, with a convex curve to drain out rainwater. However, one road was made out of obsidian that went from the Main Gate of Sol to the steps of The Celestial Palace.

Antiquity of Solarius (12BGD-500GD)

Solus Celestia was proclaimed King of Solarius in 12BGD. The Nation had experienced technological advancement during the Century Era (12BGD-235GD). Many inventions such as the plow were invented & educational & Military advancements progressed throughout the era. Literacy rates were high among the Solarian, and in all states except Equila, where magic is preferred over technology. The Aqueducts provided fresh water to the city of Sol, and upgraded towns from mere villages to towns. Advancements in farming led to help feeding a bigger population, with fertilizer & bone meal being introduced.

The first University was founded on the Celest Archipelago in 10BGD, named the Universitas Galaxia Solaris (University of Solar Galaxy), by Solus I to help promote education to the people. It was after a series of reforms made by Solus that expanded the education system. The series of reforms were called the Princeps Intelligentiae Progressio, which made schooling mandatory for ages 3-20.

Situated in the Celestial Island Chain, the Great Archipelago of Solavis (consisting of the islands of Zavis and Solais) was the island that the Solarian people had been living on for centuries. During the reign of Solus I, Solarius had expanded to the rest of Solavis, peaceful or Militarily, either way, he soon united the island in 5GD. During the Isle Wars, Solus I expanded into the surrounding Islands, though, it would take another 200 years for Solarius to take control of all of the Islands. The Faelo Kingdom & the Kaix Dynasty were two of Solarius biggest rivals in the region. It would be at the Battle of Xios would the final island, Vaux, be conquered. It was due to the expansion, many adventurers ventured to the Island of Aequator, which was home to many cultures and people. Hearing news of this, the Kings of Solarius sent out diplomats to the tribes and nations of the island, establishing relations with the island by 100GD. After the Isle Wars, a period of peace known as Pax Insulae (280-485GD), which lasted 210 years, with only minor wars and skirmishes from pirates and tribesmen happening. The economy of Solarius did grow substantially with an 5% growth every decade during Pax Insulae. During the 5th Century, political turmoil erupted, with scandals erupting throughout the Royal Court. Many bureaucrats and officials used their powers to undermine the citizens of the nation and tried to keep the Royal Family either uninformed or misinformed about situations happening outside the capital.

After the Pax Insulae, rebellions and wars soon turned on Solarius. The rebellions were crushed by Seong I, ending a period of 5 long years.

During this period, the Kingdom of Solarius was named Vetus Solarius, which marks the beginning of Solarius. During the Vetus Era, the nation was ruled by 26 Kings, each improving Solarius.

The Era of Celestia(500GD-1215GD)

With the reign of Valxius V, the Era of Celestia had begun. This era had brought technological and economical advancements, with also and the presence of Iacrix Continent gone by reports of the Terra Inquisitionis in 584GD. A rise in crime also happens consequently with pirate attacks and criminal syndicates, with the Solar Syndicate becoming a major Political Syndicate, with on an off alliance with the Government. The Pirate Wars was a major conflict during the Era, with trade and the economy being affected by raids. The governors of the states all tried to crack down on these criminal syndicates, but ended up being bribed to keep them running, in exchange for some profit. This period of corruption in the government was known as the "Blind Governors Period" which was from 623-651GD. It ended due to Zacharias I policy to remove corrupt governors, which in turn lead to decrease in local markets and better administration within the government. The most historical event during the 6th Century GD, was the Great Restart. Reports of strange lights in the sky and the earth shaking, led some to think the world was ending. The King at the time of the event, Solus VIII, thought that "Due to the reports from the Terra Inquisitionis of the Iacrix Continent disappearing, this must mean that the Grand Celestial is coming for revenge and to kill every soul in the world." But after around 25 days, a new continent came into view from Equila, and soon Solarius would send out ships to these new lands.

During this period, Solarius began trading with other nations outside of the Celestial Island chain as raw materials were hard to come by at this point. Under Zacharias I reign, Solarius began trading with the new Continent known as Pelia. The first nation Solarius interacted with on the Continent of Pelia was in 597GD (13AR), when ships belonging to the Nobleman, Victor Gusus, who sponsored the exploration of the new lands under the permission of Celestius I, encountered a people called the Voidian who lived in the [Something Forests]. The expedition marked the first of several encounters with the people on the new continent. In 602GD, while exploring new lands, some Motusian sailors spotted an series of volcanic islands where the nation of Mushakan. This would be known as the Uila Incident which would result in a small skirmish between the Mushakan Navy and the Solarian Navy. This would breed hostile relations between the two nations and would be the only nation at that time to be hostile to Solarian ships. For most of the Era of Celestia, Solarius had a more peaceful stance in foreign relations. It has interacted with it's neighbors respectfully and had only went to war with rebels and aggressors on the continent of Ilus. During Praxius V's reign, Solarius established a presence on Ilus and built the first Solarian settlement, Karios, in 750GD. While trading within the Magna Sea in 749GD, a pirate fleet called the Quang Zi Fleet began capturing trade ships and severely stalled the economy of Solarius and the Panic of 750 & the Harsh Winter of 749 had become a result of both the low trade and commerce and low wheat production from the ground still being frozen in the spring. This all coincided with the Pirate Wars that was launched to stop piracy within the region.

Politics

Government

The Government of Nova Solarius is made up of the Imperial Senate, the Supreme Court, the Monarchy, and the Office of the Chancellor.

In 5BGD, the Office of Chancellor (The Chancellery) was formed, though, it was mostly a ceremonial position. It was more of an advisory postiton to the Monarch and from time to time, would lead the armies in the Monarchs stead.

Ethnic groups

There are a wide range of ethnic groups in Nova Solarius. The two most dominant ethnic groups are the Celestian and the Orientisan. These two groups have equal representation in government and are treated equally. There is a strong bond between the Celestian and the Orientisan, both had Kings reign Solarius with respect. Each has its own traditions and customs but has a few inter-cultural holidays that unite both ethnicities together in shared history.

Religion

Religion has played a big part of Nova Solarius history. With the Celestial Gods, to simple Saints, many respect the religions of Nova Solarius. Since the foundation of the Imperium in 1773GD, Nova Solarius has been a Secular State, with no religion prioritized over another. With the diverse range of customs and traditions, there too is many religions as well.
