Hiblund (Hiblundiiun: Hivlunt [Hi:vlʊndt] ( listen) formerly known as the Democratic Sacred Land of Hiblund is an autonomous region of Frarstizk since 2023. Hiblund is located in the center of the Marigic Peninsula on the continent Thrismari. Hiblund has a total of 29 million residents, almost 29% of which living in the megacity of Vovilveante. Hiblund is known as the largest autonomous region in the world. Vovilveante is home to 8.4 million inhabitants, which is respectively the largest in Frarstizk, and is also the capital of the region and historically the capitalm of the Democratic Sacred Land of Hiblund. Languages spoken in Hiblund primarily include Hiblundiiun and a bit of Frarstizkian, and citizens of Hiblund are commonly referred to as Hiblundiiuns.
The land was originally very segregated into "clans", and the borders were changing by the day. A lot of the population resided in present-day Vovilveante, which was due to high eligibility with resources. The clans would unite almost peninsula-wide, forming the Hiblundiiun Empire which lasted for over a century, starting in 1257. This empire would then crumble to the north, leaving the rest of the land to re-establish itself into a republic in 1391. In an attempt to signify a large government reform, the republic rename itself to a democracy in the year 1854. In 1946, Hiblund would lose its eastern half due to an unconventional language change followed by riots to establish the nation of Frarstizk.
Hiblund has always been deeply invested with the arts, athletics, and religion. Throughout their existence they have maintained an outstanding national football team. Hiblund is credited with the invention of Culdesac Hockey.
Hiblund's geography is based off of the Haiieraurch River, which runs from the northwest and branches off in many directions, some going all the way down to East Alyeska. To the north is the more inhabitable and fertile land, and to the far south is more uninhabitable as it is close to the south pole. The nation has been considered to in two halves geographically, as the Kaulinski Mountain Range splits through the entire nation. Timber is considered a very common resource in the land.
The country's core freedom is its religion, as this influences pretty much everything apart of the land. Despite Hiblund's attempts of making this a flawless system, this has seen many problematic events. The most notable problem was the H Religion, which was a group of minorities who used religion as an excuse for a blatant invasion of human rights. This put a huge scar on the nation both in areas of population and economy with the loss of much of its land, which has since completely hindered the development of the entire nation, and is still in the process of recovering.

History
Ancient Marigic Peninsula (<1250 AD)
Prior to any true establishment of nations in Hiblund's immediate area, land to the north was held dearly by smaller clans, in current-day Fallooplesburg and northern Hiblund, while the south a had few large territories, some of the land being unclaimed, which was mostly inherit to East Alyeska. Although governments east of the area were beginning to take form and organization, while the peninsula continued to be undefined, segregated, and even nomadic. On the contrary to the government, the lands were rich in culture, with various artistic and religious values coming out of the area, as well as decent technological advancement, which was often region-wide and not just specific to clans.
Somewhere around the turn of the 12th century, the idea of a defined government and uniformity had finally reached in to be a striving need for the territories. Quickly, clans of the area had started to reform their governments into a slightly more equal and inmonarchic powers, which matched the common culture of the world around them. Most clans still did not have a democratic of even republican way of electing leaders, but power was equalized so that this was not necessary. As for lowering the number of clans, territories were repulsive to the idea of combining governments with another, especially for rivals. Resistance was prominent and war usually resulted in a loss, but alliances between clans had been almost considered as one clan itself, just with very clear provincial borders.
The next hundred years or extremely progressive for the area, as governments had improved almost as well as their culture, and alliances were made to the extreme that the previous number of 271 different known clans in 1100 had dwindled down to 31 in 1250.
Hiblund-Kulz's Reign
The Hiblund-Kulz, according to sources before 1050 AD, was just another ordinary clan of the region, it being founded on the Ahrilemnt River, specifically in the area of the modern-day city Vovilveante. Although its original size was small, it was unusually abundant in population, however not so much that is was notable.
During the 12th century, however, it was on the more advantageous side of clans, as it seeked to gain control over the entire area, slowly and with strategy. However, they were not aggressive with their plans, and treated their citizens in a kind fashion, which had given them a sense of uniformity not seen often throughout the territories. Its first few moves were alliances with the neighboring and comparably miniscule clans, the most notable being the Antaralin and the Fierhabel. The only condition on the alliance was that the Hiblund-Kulz name would stay, and these allied clans would be a very secure part of the clan.
The Hiblund-Kulz ran into a wall in their development in 1230, where their progression east was stopped by an equally-powerful clan, the Lellic. The Lellic controlled a large part of modern-day Hiblund, and twice the territory of Hiblund-Kulz. After multiple attempts of negotiating with Lellic for an alliance, and with Lellic refusing all this time, Hiblund-Kluz grew impatient with their stalled improvement and declared war for the first time in their history. Although they had a disadvantage in size and a small negative marigin in population, they fought hard for three straight years. Eventually, they had won and vowed to never seek war as an option again.

Overview Geographically
Geographically speaking, Hiblund is not favorable to live in. It is very cold, at least prominently in the southern half. However, the more north you go, the easier it is to live in. Summer is a decent temperature, ground is more fertile, regions are much more populated, you get the idea. The Kaulinski Mountain Range is a good spot to separate the north and the south, as very few major cities are below it. There are few rivers that come across Hiblund, but the most important of which is the Haiieraurch River, which stretches from northwest to center, giving water to major cities such as Vovilveante, Straci, and Antres. Another water distributor is the Asterloncjieven Lake, which is located in the southeast corner of Hiblund. This also includes many inhabitants around it, being the reason for cities like Kandal and Lardes. Due to all of these factors, population is quite subject to major cities and the northern region. This being said, the top 10 cities account for around 50% of the total population. As mentioned before, Vovilveante is easily the largest at 8.4M, but others include Porlaik (1.2M), Antres (0.9M), Pavre (500K), and Suzell (350K).

Military
Hiblund doesn't take part in very much militaristic action, being mainly pacifist, and mainly uses these systems in case of defense and counter-attack. This being said, military courses are entirely voluntary, but are given exceptional pay and advertising when in times of need. The army is funded decently, being prepared at all measures for attack. Although the Army's decent and all, the main focus is airship training for their air force and secret service for detecting attacks and releasing spies. Air foce is a dangerous weapon in favor of Hiblund, and nations around don't necessarily want to test out how good it is. It may not be a top 5, but its funding compared to Hiblund's overall population would make you think so. The navy is lacking, as coastlines are rarely an issue Hiblund is forced to solve.

Sports
The sporting district is easily Hiblund's most internationally known feature, with it being one of the nation's highest in priority, behind religion. The variety is strong, however, football is a long way ahead in popularity. The leagues themselves weave their way through Hiblund's history as a nation, especially through the independece of Frarstizk. The players are infamously held high in their actions, sometimes more idolizing than the nation's leaders themselves to a common Hiblundiiun. The creation of sports such as Culdesac Hockey and Cross Baseball was the initial spark of interest in Hiblundiiun sports, truly innovating a completely new way of viewing sports, so much so that in a Hiblundiiun household desire of competition is held dearly. The interest in sports has helped in many different aspects, such as economy (autographs), health, scientific advancement (keeping players safe), along with others.
Football
Football is the primary sport played in Hiblund, similar to many nations throughout Anteria. Although, Hiblund takes it a step further, which shows as its broadcasting of the sport reaches extremely high viewcounts and the in-person viewing is high as well. Clubs with stadiums capable of holding over 70,000 people have been filled to the brim on countless occasions, with tickets sometimes being bid upon for very high revenue to the clubs themselves.
The major leagues to the sport are hosted within the Shodiax League System. This system is not in any way a completely stable organization, making the league eligable to fold in accordance to a new and unrelated system forming. Despite the looming uncertainty, due to the popularization and enjoyability of the Shodiax, this league has stood the test of time in the modern era. A challenge hit them recently, however, where all the levels/leagues except the main chose to hold back from participating in attempt of keeping safety precautions up-to-date. After five long years of protesting, the event known as the Vaitrel Iede Protests came to a close and evidentually got their way.
Before the Shodiax League came to be, Hiblund's major football league was in the Harletical Fiutvel Iede. The Harletical was a problematic league, as it did not allow for promotion or relegation of any kind, which led to some teams being way better than others. After numerous attempts of bringing it down, it was secretly planned to fold in 1950. This would occur sooner than intended, as Frarstizk gained its independence in the 1946 offseason. The Harletical would fold, and because there was no real stability or aggreeance to what should be the requirements for the new major league, and this would begin the Sciedfelt Stretch, where there was no major league in Hiblund for seven years until the Shodiax League was formed.
Currently, clubs' rivalries have thickened parallel to the popularity increase, and because of this has made the sport and the teams known to almost everyone. The influence has reached the youngest of children, as sports; especially football, is a surprisingly common career path with all of the minor leagues not comprised within the Shodiax System. The overall influence of this sport is overwhelming for its size compared to similar nations.
Culdesac Hockey
Culdesac Hockey has quite a similar popularity level to football in Hiblund, with the exception of the sport not being internationally recognized. The sport itself is solely inherit to Hiblund and a little bit of Frarstizk, the connenction being due to close relations between the countries. It is a spin-off, yet much more interesting form of ice hockey, which gives reason to its little recognition. The sport itself was founded in the early 1970s, so thera has not been a very large span of time for the sport to grow in.
The origins to the game were first introduced in the early 1960s by highschoolers. There was little intent to making this game an actual sport, however, after one of these cashed in a successful stock, their dream became a reality and the Hiblundiiun Culdesac Hockey Association was formed in 1971. Reactions to this supposed rip-off of a sport varied, but the game itself actually had a surprisingly large number of differences compared to ice hockey. The organization, led by Fraetlei Lellic and Elzxair Vovliksir, began to push their game into Hiblundiiun advertising.
After begging for the sport to be hosted on a major broadcaster, people watched the very first indoor and outdoor games, and supposedly began to realize the uniqueness put into the game. In fact, the success was so great that they were able to establish actual stadiums for many of the indoor and outdoor teams. Since then, culdesac hockey has surpassed many sports, even ice hockey, in total viewership. Outside Hiblund, Frarstizk is the only nation to fully include a league for it due to the Made as One Alliance's influence. It has not gone international for various reasons, the most prominent being the looming danger of failure to popularize the sport.
Cross Baseball
Cross baseball is incredibly similar to culdesac hockey in terms of international recognition, however, the popularization even within Hiblund's borders is dramatically smaller than one's of culdesac hockey. Cross Baseball is often compared to lacrosse. It is yet another sport founded in Hiblund after Frarstizk's independence, this one's first major appearance being in 1979.
Unlike culdesac hockey, the origins of the game were introduced by baseball coaches, having their players throw a wiffle ball up and hitting it with a mixed bat[2] with only one hand. This drill would then influence an entirely new game from the same simple practice. It didn't take very long to make their game become a sport, as some investors were lenient enough to lend them some money to start their league. It started in 1976, only hosted in one province, but after being oversought by more investors, made its way up to being a national league in 1979, where the Serflunn Cross Baseball League came to play.
Progress on the popularization has been quite steady throughout Hiblund, and has respectably reached #3 for most viewership, but has not even made a tiny influence on surrounding nations, so much so that not even Frarstizk has made a major league for the sport. The future is unknown for the young sport, however anylists expect the sport to drastically increase in popularity over the next decade.
Basketball
Basketball, unlike the three above, does not bring up as large of an audience. Yet of course, with the amount of athletic ability in the nation, it is still a very respected career path and well-known across the land, even with the viewership success not being parallel with the overall popularity.
The Federal Basketball Association of Hiblund, otherwise known as the FBHA, was originally founded in 1948[3], and was further developed into a system that branched out into provincial leagues. These leagues were created in 1959, and they had no way of promoting or relegating, as they wished to keep the main league with the same teams every year. The league has faced some faults, however, as some teams were so underfunded that the FBAH made an exception and let them be replaced the next season. Fortunately, this was not all that common, and has only occured in the major league twice.
Basketball has casted a pretty strong influence on the youngest generation of Hiblund, and with that comes predictions about how the sport can grow into another major event producer in the near years. This spike is due to an increase in interest by other nations, which Hiblund has followed in suite.
Baseball
Baseball is the beginning of the slightly more unknown sports Hiblund is interested in, at least from an international standpoint. Baseball still brings in plenty of viewers and ameteur players throughout the land, and although not as much as basketball, is still a very productive sport economically.
Baseball has hosted three different major leagues in the past, the first being the National Baseball League System of Hiblund (or NBLSH) founded in 1905, which notably included promotion and relegation. This league would not last very long, as baseball would open its market to private owners. The switch of major leagues would not only be because of private opening, but also rule fixings to make the game more interesting. Hiblund would switch to the Advancing Hiblundiiun Baseball Association (or AHBA) in 1918, which kept the pro/rel system. This league could also be referenced with the last name "Lerkinti" plastered infront of the name, to culturize the naming of leagues in Hiblund.
With the event we all know by now, Frarstizk's independence, it called for another new baseball league. Although there was a possibility tried to be performed to a reality by the AHBA, but was failed to the complexity. On top of this, rich business owner Terlinak Cistruine designed his own new baseball league and system, the Cistruine Baseball League, which overpowered the ABHA in many ways. Teams from the ABHA began to switch to the Cistruine because of the chaos trying to be fixed in their current league and the fact that their new league would reform some of the issues the previously faced, as well as similarities with pro/rel being kept. The Cistruine would see its first season in 1947.
Currently, baseball's popularity is on a steady decline in Hiblund, as all statistics reach lower every year.
Ice Hockey
Ice hockey used to be the number two sport of Hiblund, but it was drastically effected by the introduction of culdesac hockey. The year with the highest effect of the league was 1979, after ice hockey fans were given the time to switch to the culdesac form.
The very first ice hockey league was the Nirumel Hockey League System, which was founded in 1920, and by name, included promotion and relegation. The league held strong throughout its existence, and there were no problems ever found with the system to make it fold into itself. This was especially relevant through the independence of Frarstizk, as unlike all other non-individual sporting leagues, it held on and kept strong with superb management. With the formation of the HCHA, the Nirumel faced strong hardships. It kept going relatively strong until 1979, and barely kept positive income through the 1980s. Finally, in 1989, the Nirumel was not able to keep afloat without making huge cutbacks, so it was announced that the league would fold.
Not too far afterwards, a group of investors would found the National Hiblundiiun Ice Hockey League (or NHIHL) in the year 1995. This league would basically go under the radar, with very little television appearance until around the year 2005. After that, interest in the sport would increase, but is currently nowhere near the success of what they had before the HCHA.
Disc Golf
Disc golf is by far the most well-known and influencial sport played by individuals, and is extremely common among ameteurs that will simply do it on a day off. Hiblund itself has led internationally for best disc golfers plenty of times depite the nation's little population. Foreigners are often shocked as to how popular this sport is, escpecially in the north, as it exhibits typical conditions for disc golf.
The nation, especially in the early to mid 1900s, only hosted minor leagues for the sport, as at the time it was only thought of as a hobby. Once there became actual full-time dedicators to the sport, the National Disc Golfing League (or NDGL) was founded, which took place in 1976. This league held bimonthly competitions for the majors, with minor competitions for ones less dedicated to the sport. The major league holds four relegation spots[4] after each competition, which resists the need for long and slightly uneventful qualification matches.
Although Hiblund's love of the sport is high and is recognized internationally, viewership is much lower than team sports, because you really need to be in-person to enjoy watching the game.
Religion
Hiblund's religion is very relevant in the culture and daily life of Hiblundiiun nature, some may say it is the very center of all that takes place in the nation. This is so relevant, in fact, that many of the governmental policies are also based on one's beliefs. Although this definitely may sound oppressive, and in a way it is, but the government tries its best to remain secularist beliefs intact and keep everyone content.
The main and abounding belief is in a slightly more Reformed Christianity, falling into the category of Protestantism. Although the most religious of this group tries to refrain from excluding themselves from the common Christian, the way they take Christian beliefs is much more serious and thought-provoking. Although those belonging to this fellowship are by no means exclusive, however, anyone that they don't believe actually takes their beliefs seriously is sort of thought as foolish. Its rain on culture is very specific and doesn't let anything go to the gray area, being very clear on right and wrong. Another effect is its ability to have people, especially showing a difference in older teenagers, the ability for one to think very logistically and thouroughly, which is a major part in understanding the religion itself.
Due to the "looking-down" upon those who don't take Christianity seriously, the abundance in average Christian believers is quite seldom, and generally never goes against another belief. Really just speaks for itself what this group believes.
Secularists take the challenge on Ref. Christianity's strong hold on Hiblund. Hiblund's culture likes to have everyone think for themself, which although is normally followed, it does have exceptions with religion. This meaning that people who want to find the meaning of life follow in Ref. Christianity's footsteps just to fit in. However, there are still plenty of people who go against the flow when coming to religion and choose to go the secularist route. The tension between this group and Ref. Christianity is the complete opposite of absent, yet surprisingly is very respectful. Both sides deeply benefit in their "Great Debates" (as called in Hiblund) and have never once broke out in a fist-fight, although there are a few that bring in some pretty heated tones and barely hold themselves from an all-out brawl. Its stance in the Government is all but ignored and always brought into consideration when deciding laws, especially since most scientists fall into this divide. Although it is less so in the logistical and moral department, it exceeds in scientific advancement, as expected.
Agnostics have little to no influence on what goes on around them. Deeply disrespected by many and can bee seen as a disrupt in Hiblundiiun culture.
The H religion is confusing to say the least. Although it is very few in numbers and is generally a silly thought of religion, there are plenty that actually believe in this stuff, 90% of which belong to the northeastern regions. All in this division consider H as the almightly letter of all lexicons, and the letter G is a disgrace to humanity. Honestly hard to explain how this even became a thing, but it is and all of Hiblund has to deal with it. Their small little voices were put into uproar, as the only thing that they ever asked for was that "G" should replaced with a similar-sounding "Ɣ" and convert all in the land to this language. After multiple devastating threats, the government caved and gave this idea a shot, which turned out to be a very poor decision, granting Frarstizk its independence immediately afterwards. This has left a significant scar on Hiblund's culture, but ever since has not made any more cultural changes other than its language.
The other religions that are throughout Hiblund are quite diversified, and have little to no cultural significance. Who's to really say what makes up this mysterious portion of the population?

Landmarks
Important landmarks in Hiblund are quite rare, as their interest architecture is quite low. However, the patriots of Hiblund hold dearly to the few that they have, man-made and natural alike. The man-made landmarks are less about the nation's history and more about the important people and the internationally recongnized feats Hiblund has conquered. Natural beauty isn't very common, as the nation is located very far south, but in Vefilt there are a couple of magnificent views taking after the colder areas of Hiblund.
Man-made
Vhorner Monvett is a diamond-shaped historical landmark in Onstekk, which is in honor of the former Head of State Renbia Vhorner. Renbia Vhorner will be talked about later on in this article, but to be put short, Vhorner gave really sound advice through the nation's economic crisis in 1972, which was caused due to very high provincial interest rates. He even grew the nation's economy to three-fold its size, making his name prominent throughout the land. The monument was designed in 1977, a year after his term, and was finish precisely two years afterwards. It was located in the southern city of Onstekk, which at the time, only held a population of 800 people. Now, with tourists visiting and sometimes even liking the places arouond the monumnet, Onstekk has grew to a population of 20,500.
VC Achoutfi Rautier oc Porlaik is a very heightly building in Porlaik, which is the tallest building in the entire nation. The building was built by patriots of the nation, hoping that the nation would gain some recognition for the project. The building is only the 21st highest in Anteria, but it is considered a respectable landmark of the nation because of the dedication made by the workers. The building itself is used for the largest Hiblundiiun business that does not put its headquarters in Vovilveante, VC Accounting. Another speculative reason as for why it was made was to have Porlaik claim a title that Vovilveante, the dominant city of Hiblund, did not have. Unfortunately, this project caused the HDI rate for the city to decrease once more, which caused controversy among some environmental protectors of the city.
