Molten Crew is a Vitosian rock band founded in 1971. The band, while having some great hits, is also known for the drama behind-the-scenes that famously led to Billie Duran and David Wise's departures from the band.

History

The band was started in 1971 by Michael "Mike" Couto-Byers, who was childhood friends with Frank Campos. Together, they had locals audition for spots in their band, ultimately finding Connor Moura, David Wise and William "Billie" Duran.

In 1976, Connor Moura and Frank Campos grew jealous of Wise and sought to ruin his reputation. The public drama led to Wise quitting the band and joining Banquet of the New Sound, which proved to be more popular in the long-run.

In 1980, after Campos' trip to rehab following a few scandals, Couto-Byers and Duran sat down and discussed whether Campos should continue in the band. Due to Mike's conflicts with regards to Frank Campos being a childhood friend of his, Duran ultimately quit the band and joined another.

In 1989, Mike Couto-Byers chose to fire Campos from the band due to another scandal as well as him being at fault for Wise and Duran leaving the band. He was also able to reconcile with Wise and Duran after so many years.

In 2002, Mike Couto-Byers chose to retire from the industry to pursue acting. Allen Pimentel, Connor Moura, Jack Montgomery and Kevin Stars would continue as a new rock band one year later known as A-C-J-K. Unfortunately, the new band would only last nine years until Kevin Stars' death in 2013.

In 2015, Couto-Byers and Montgomery chose to begin a new band after Couto-Byers expressed a desire to return, albeit in a new band. They had planned to invite Pimentel and Moura but the former had fallen ill and would pass away the next year and the latter, Moura, had pursued acting.
