David Mauricio Thiago Wise is a Vitosian musician most famous for his tenures in Molten Crew and Banquet of the New Sound. He is cited as one of the best guitarists in Vitosian music history.
Personal Life
David Wise was born to Celia Fabiana Wise (nee Bastos) and Leonard Christopher David Wise in 1951 in the town of Decapoint, Maydover Island, Vitosium.
Since he was 12 years old, David had a yearning for music, being inspired by bands like The Alvims and The Montenegro Brothers. In high school, he had met Javier Singleton, who he would end up being lifelong friends with. In 1971, Javier and David both auditioned for Molten Crew with only David getting in. He had contemplated turning down the offer but Singleton insisted he stay, becoming a member of Candy Sanity two years later.
Career
- In 1971, 20 year old Wise auditioned for the part of guitarist in Mike Couto-Byers' new and upcoming band, Molten Crew.
- In 1976, the defamatory antics of Connor Moura and Frank Campos caused Wise to quit the band. Michael Fonseca would reach out as soon as possible to get Wise to join Banquet of the New Sound. In 2012, Fonseca and Wise expressed a desire to retire from the music industry, putting the future of Banquet of the New Sound into uncertainty. Despite talks of getting back together, Fonseca's death in 2014 led the band to split for good.
- 2004 saw David Wise and Javier Singleton begin their new band, Dogma Theory, with the plans to only release two albums together (2004 and 2005) as they had always wanted to work on an album together since the 70s. In 2015, the duo would release three more albums before Singleton retired from the music industry in 2020 due to his health.
- In 2021, Wise, Moniz and Rocha announced that they were bringing back Banquet of the New Sound to carry on Fonseca's spirit and released an album that year about their memories with him. Joining the band as the new keyboardist was Mike Couto-Byers (of Molten Crew fame) with Johnny Moniz picking up the bass.
