Apella Melina Sanguinelli, otherwise known by her stage name, Appia, is a Vitosian pop sensation, singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and businesswoman. She is known for reinventing herself throughout her career and for her versatility in numerous areas of the entertainment industry. Having sold 182 million records as of 2018, Appia is one of the world's best-selling music artists. In 2013, Appia founded her nonprofit organization, the Find Your Way Foundation, named after one of her mega hits, which focuses on improving mental health.

Personal Life

Appia was born in 1980 to Rachelle Sinato and a man named Collin. In 1986, following Sinato's divorce of Collin, her and her sister, Mariella, had their surname legally changed to Sanguinelli, their mother's maiden name.

Appia has an older brother from a different father, Rory.

Following Sinato's getting into a relationship to multi-millionaire, Benjamin Walstrand, Walstrand was open to Rory, Apella and Mariella that he would help with post-secondary costs but would not spoil them. Walstrand has since invested in all main business ventures from the three children. Appia has mentioned that Benjamin was strict but loving and wanted them to be independent and not dependent on his wealth. Thanks to his lessons, all three children learned the value of the dollar.

In 2008, Appia came out as a lesbian and would marry Sofia Sarti in 2013.
