Vonzumier (Vierz: Wonzumier), officially the Republic of Vonzumier (Vierz: Republik Wonzumier), is a country located in South Artalia. It is spread across 35 federal provinces and 2 federal cities: Rossach, the largest city, and Niederau, the capital city. The country has an estimated population of 262 million people, making it the third-most populous sovereign state in the world.
Paleo-Artalians reached South Artalia as early as 14,000 years ago. Patyrian colonization began after the discovery of the Artalias by Hermann Preiss in 1499, and the land fell under Apelian control until its annexation by Vierzland in 1610. After disputes over political disenfranchisement and repression, Vonzumier declared independence from the Vierz Empire in 1867 and won the war of independence in 1871. Vonzumier again fought Vierzland in the Frontier War of the late 1910s, emerging victorious
