Humanist Sotirian Union (Dellish: Humanistyske SotiryskeUnie, Martish: Humanistlik Sotirilikud Liit, HSU/HSL) is an Alslandic Sotirian democratic and centrist political party in Alsland.

The party was formed as an interdenominational merger of the Amendist New Sotirian People's Party (NSFP) and Catholic Centrist Humanist Alliance (SP/SHA) as well as the Witterite Party for Peace and Solidarity (PFS) in 1987. The HSU led by Richard Hauschka won 56 seats and placed first at the 1990 Alslandic legislative election, defeating the National Bloc which had been in power since the end of the Great War, Hauschka was elected as Premier becoming the first non-Bloc Premier in Alsland. Hauschka was Premier and led the HSU until the party was defeated at the 1998 Alslandic legislative election. The party subsequently was a junior cabinet minister until 2006 when it entered opposition. The party was once again a junior coalition partner from 2010 to 2023.

The party is strongly influenced by Sotirian democracy, Sotirian humanism as well as ethical utilitarianism which form the backbone of the party's ideology. The party is a strong proponent of consistent life ethics and it opposes Alslandic entry into foreign military alliances but is very supportive of the Community of Nations and backs using the Ferdigeningsmacht in CN peacekeeping forces, it is also a proponent of Alslandic neutrality and backs supporting human rights and international development. The party takes an economically leftist stance on issues such as social spending and taxation as well. It is strongly supportive of Alslandic membership in the Euclean Community. It is a member of the Alliance of Conservatives and Democrats for Euclea.

The party has 15 seats in the Folkssenaat and 2 seats within the Euclean Parliament. The HSU has strong electoral support in Yndyk and Holsteen where it has preformed the best electorally. The party's two co-leaders are Hilda Schaaf from the Amendist and Witterite wing and Suwert Jorritsma from the Catholic wing.

Ideology

The HSU bases its ideology off of Sotirian democracy and traditionally represented parties advocating for greater religious importance in government. On the party's founding it adopted new policies based off of the ethical theory of Utilitarianism and to this end claims it does not have an official ideology but follows Utilitarian principles. To this end the party supports the use of public referendums in deciding certain policies.

The party opposes Alslandic membership of the ECDTO. The party bases this view on consistent life ethics which forms part of the basis of the party's policies. The party takes a pacifist stance on defence and argues that all forms of war are unjust and violate the sanctity of life. The party is supportive of Alsland giving refuge to Tsabaran refugees who arrive in Euclea and have organised support schemes for refugees who have arrived in Alsland, Etruria and Paretia. It is opposed to the usage of capital punishment. Several important members such as Hilda Schaaf and Sjuk Posthuma are opposed to abortion but are supportive of a women's right to choose, the party's official policy on abortion recognises both the unborn baby's right to life and a woman's right to choose as equal rights. At the HSU's autumn conference in 2019 the party adopted an anti-euthanasia platform following the legalisation of Euthanasia in Upper Swerdia. Instead the party wishes to improve end of life care for terminally ill patients by making their final months as painless as possible. To accomplish this the party wants to provide more funding for care at home, hospices and investigating cures and treatments for many diseases such as HIV and Cancer.

The HSU supports mandatory language classes until the age of 18 for Alslandic students and are proponents of multilingualism in Alsland.

In terms of economics the party combines support for a Market economy with a strong Welfare state. The party is critical of councilism and unregulated capitalism, although the party has governed with the Alslandic Section of the Workers' International in the past and does not oppose working with the party.
