Alternate history behind the story
The plot is set to 1986, in the Union of Council States. The point of divergence from our timeline is set to be 4th November 1938 during the Second Battle of Ukadsk. In this timeline, one of the Council planes (Red 313 of 21st Squadron) conducting bombing raids was not shot down and successfully bombed Zhengian military HQ, killing the President of Zhengia and crippling Ukadsk defence forces. By December 1938, Zhengia effectively ceased to exist, as council troops occupied the provisional capital of Kandan and moved north to cut away Bogmian territories. Meanwhile in the south, Bogmian forces are pushed out of Minimalstrit and are slowly evacuated away from Mosterec into Gadorien.
On January 3rd, 1939, the Republic of Bogmia officially surrendered, as their provisional capital of Lonking was encircled by Council troops, effectively ending the war in the east with a Council victory. Gadorien quickly moved to sign a white peace with the council, officially recognizing the regime. About 3 divisions of evacuated Bogmian infantry and 2 divisions of Zhengian infantry were integrated into Gadori forces.
Not much is known about the 40's and early 50's, but it is known, that in 1962, Council attempted taking Monte Blanco by force, being halted by Monte Blancan army and forced to sign a peace treaty. In 1974, during the civil war in Prei Meas, Council intervened on behalf of Communist forces, defeating the Nokorite army by 1975 and creating another socialist country. Sometimes in mid 70's, a defensive union was created between Gadorien and Velharia, de facto creating a political union between the two.
The world as of 1986
Union of Council States, consisting of 3 socialist council states (Bogmian Socialist Council Republic, Zhengian Socialist Council Republic and Haldenian Socialist Council Republic), has decided on its capital to be in Ukadsk. Former city centre was leveled and replaced by a Pallace of the Worker, a 76-meters high monumental structure combining Brutalist and Roman architecture. Border with Gadorien, although called the "Trucial border" by the regime, is one of the most armed borders in all of Anteria, having a total of 3 four meters high electric fences constructed on it.
Although no law enforcing this was signed, standard Bogmian became official language of the region, including Zhengia and Haldenia. Bogmian in the series is written using digraphs instead of diacritics or character symbolism.

Reactions
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 Term "Maꞇчina" is a Zhoushi term for the "Motherland". Some countries translate the name from Zhoushi to Common, as characters from the Zhoushi alphabet may cause problems to non-Zhoushi people trying to read them.
- ↑ Actress Lucie Maȝ and the former leader of the Council State Vladimir Maȝ are 1st cousins, 5 times removed (see the video & chart made by CGP Grey on the issue →link←). Acting of Lucie Maȝ as one of the main protagonists therefore created a controversy in the media, which was eventually sorted by Lucie Maȝ condemning the Council State and the War of the Council on live TV
- ↑ Unlike the Standard Zhoushi, the language used in the series comes from Zhoushi, but has been edited to fit the alternate history lore, such as ignorance of the New Year's reforms of 1985
