For administrative purposes, Amalfi is divided into eight regions. These regions are each formed from a grouping of between two and six of the traditional provinces of Amalfi. Electoral divisions are drawn up along regional lines, with each region then dividing its seats in the Senate among its districts, of which there are a total of 134.
