The Young Noctis is a 2018 Lucian-Nihhonese Biographical drama film directed and written by Inertia award-winning director, Henry Luttich and written by Yamato H.T. Matsukaze. The film follows the early life and reign of King Noctis Lucis Caelum, who was prone to stammer several times in his life until his adolescent life when he sees Welkin Gunther, his best friend helps him cope up this speech difficulty and to the spark that ignited the Second Lucis Civil War up to the restoration period. The film stars Tatsumi Sugiyama and Shiori Akiyama; in their only lead role and film on the request of the King; along with Kurt Irving, Riela Marcellis, Joy Giovanni, Hikaru Rikuru and Vashyron Constantine among the large ensemble cast.

Filming took place in Insomnia and around Lucis. Lancaster House was suited to Dettingen Palace; Codsall Stadium for Webley Stadium, Fely Cathedral stood in for Herrenhausen Abbey. The lake where the fishing scene was shot took place at Lake York, the same place where the King and his grandfather were fishing. The cinematography differs from that of other historical dramas: hard light was used to give the story a greater resonance and wider than normal lenses were employed to recreate the King's feelings of constriction.

Released in the United Kingdom on 6 September 2018, The Young Noctis was a major box office and critical success, earning five stars. Censors initially gave it adult ratings due to profanity, though these were later revised downwards after criticism by the makers and distributors in the UK and some instances of swearing were muted in Gallia-Bruhl. On a budget of 15 million Gil, it earned over 552 million Gil internationally, making it the highest grossing independent films of all time and on 2018. It was widely praised by film critics for its visual style, art direction, and acting. Other commentators discussed the film's representation of historical detail.
