The Summer Counteroffensive of 1943 was a military offensive involving Allied forces against Imperial forces. After the surprising escalation of the previous Archadian Spring Offensive, the Allied High Command decided to retake back its lost territories from the Quenminese and Archadians. The operation involved the retaking of the small Joyonghean town of Nakpo, which was vital in deciding the outcome of the battle. The Allies managed to take Nakpo by the 28th but were forced out by the 4th of July. Reinforcements from Lucian General Okita Hanamura proved instrumental in taking the town by the 10th of July but the Quenminese and Archadian forces staged another large scale counterattack that pushed the allies from the town and onto the defence. Unable to mount another attack, their efforts and hope relied on Samegawa's formation in the north.
In the North, Zanarkian General Samegawa managed to beat off Imperial attacks on the flank but was soon ordered to immediately push towards the Imperial lines to distrupt further attacks by the Imperials. By the 20th of July, Samegawa launched an offensive in the North, prompting the Imperials to divert their forces to the North, saving the Lucian and Joyonghean formations and giving time for them to launch another attack. By the 23rd, General Namgung Wook-yun immediately pushed his forces forward, reinforcing Samegawa's formation that had been engaging with the Quenminese, sealing the Imperial attacks.
By the 30th, The Imperials ordered a retreat to the north.
