The 7th Skirmisher Regiment, also known as the Laser Kiwi Regiment, is a special forces regiment in the Furbish Army. Like other skirmisher regiments, it is tasked with performing special operations including capturing high value targets, counterinsurgency, operations behind enemy lines, special reconnaissance, training regular or irregular forces, and unconventional warfare. Members are primarily recruited from the southeastern Furbish Islands. The regiment was founded in 2016 and participated in the Niagaran Civil War.

History

Founding

The 7th and 8th Skirmisher Regiments were founded in the 2016 Army Special Forces Reorganization Plan, with personnel taken from other special forces units.

Like all special forces units, the regiment is notable for using the Furbish Special Forces Phonetic Alphabet, which uses names of alcoholic drinks.

Symbolism

A kiwi shooting a laser out of its eye is the symbol of the regiment.

The mascot, Daniela, is a kiwi from the Quaman Zoo, who was chosen after reportedly showing interest in one of the officers. She currently lives in the regimental depot in Fort Corbyn with her family.
