}} Elisabeth Rademacher (née Brühlmann; born: 30 September 1977) is a Besmenian politican (BVP). She is since September 2021 the 16th Prime Minister of Besmenia.
Before her premiership, she served as Governor of Maurenmark from 2016 to 2021. Between 2013 and 2016 she served as Maurenmarkian State Minister for Science, Education and Infrastructure. From 2016 to 2021 Rademacher was also chairwoman of the BVP Maurenmark and from 2019 to 2021 one of the deputy chairpersons of the BVP. From February to December 2022, Rademacher served as the chairwoman of the BVP.
She ran as the first female BVP candidate in the 2021 Besmenian federal election. After the election, Rademacher formed a blue-red-green government together with the BVP, SDU and GPB, the first party coalition of this kind at the federal level.
Early life
Rademacher was born as Elisabeth Brühlmann on September 30, 1977 in Samaroda as the daughter of Helmut Brühlmann (1932-2012) and Helga Klaumer (1935-2020). The couple Helmut and Helga married in 1962 and lived in Melmingen until November 1966. The family then moved to Könlenz after the opening of the Inner Besmenian border. After the economic situation had improved somewhat, the family moved back to Maurenmark in July 1973, but to Samaroda rather than Melmingen.
Elisabeth was the youngest of four children. Her siblings are: Pieter Brühlmann (* 1966), Lena Brühlmann (* 1970) and Hannah Brühlmann (1974-2015). Her sister Hannah died in 2015 of complications from cancer.
In 2001, on the night of November 23/24, Elisabeth Brühlmann was robbed and slightly injured in the arm by a burglar in her apartment, who gained access to her apartment while Brühlmann was asleep. Brühlmann's downstairs neighbor called the police, who were able to arrest the burglar near the block of flats. In an interview from July 2019, she spoke in detail about the incident for the first time. She is said to have suffered from psychological consequences for a while after the incident and that she did not feel safe in her apartment for a long time.
Education
Brühlmann attended the Heinz Dimmler elementary school in the west of Samaroda from 1984 to 1988 and the Hans Messner grammar school from 1988-1994. She then began studying law and political science at the University of Samaroda, which she successfully completed in 1999. In order to supplement her income during her studies, Rademacher claims to have worked as a temporary assistant in a library and as a cleaner in an office.
Political carrer
At the age of 19, Elisabeth joined the Besmenian People's Party (BVP) in 1996 and was involved in the BVP district association in the Samaroda district. In 2002 she became deputy chairwoman of the BVP district association Samaroda, and in 2007 as the official chairwoman.
Member of the State Chamber of Maurenmark (2009-2021)
In the 2009 Maurenmark state election she ran in the constituency of Samaroda I and moved through the state list of the BVP in the State Chamber of Maurenmark.
State Minister for Science, Education and Infrastructure (2013-2016)
After her predecessor Manfred Brecht resigned, Rademacher was nominated as State Minister for Science, Education and Infrastructure on July 8, 2013 by Maurenmarkian governor Konrad Mann. Rademacher took office two days later.
Governor of Maurenmark (2016-2021)
After Konrad Mann resigned from his offices as governor of Maurenmark and chairman of the BVP Maurenmark on March 15, 2016 for health reasons, Rademacher became his successor in both offices. Rademacher, who was 38 years old when she began her governorship, was one of the youngest governors in Besmenia at the time.
Rademacher was confirmed on September 13, 2017 at the BVP Maurenmark party conference in Melmingen with 79.6 percent as state chairwoman. On September 10, 2019, she was re-elected state chairwoman at the BVP Maurenmark party conference in Stotternbach with 82.8 percent.
2019 Maurenmark state election
In late 2018, Rademacher was confirmed as the candidate for the BVP for the 2019 Maurenmark state election in February 2019. In the election, the BVP was able to defend its first place with a result of 31.9% and received an increase in votes of 2.4%. After the election, a coalition was formed with the SDU.
BVP candidate in the 2021 federal election
Following the calling of new elections following the collapse of the BVP-FBBP government and after Theodor Sidemann failed to win the confidence of a majority in the Federal Chamber, Sidemann surprisingly announced on May 13, 2021, five days after his dismissal as prime minister, that he would not serve for the 2021 election as the BVP candidate and his renunciation of a fourth term as prime minister. On May 15, Elisabeth Rademacher was nominated and confirmed as the BVP candidate. Rademacher thus became the first female BVP candidate for a federal chamber election. Before the election, Rademacher rejected a coalition with the National Besmenian Party.
BVP leadership (2022)
After Theodor Sidemann resigned from his position as BVP chairman in January 2022, Rademacher was elected the first female BVP chairperson in February 2022, succeeding Sidemann. After Sidemann's resignation, Rademacher held the office on an interim basis until February 25.
After Rademacher had to accept constant strong criticism from various parts of the BVP and the BVP did poorly in election polls, she decided to give up the party leadership after only 8 months in office. At a special party conference on December 3, 2022, Karsten Betzler, chairman of the Federal Chamber faction of the BVP, was elected the new chairman of the party. Rademacher justified her decision at a press conference by saying that she had to "take even more care of government affairs".
Prime Minister of Besmenia (2021-)
The BVP, with Rademacher as the prime minister candidate, emerged as the strongest party in the federal elections on August 8, 2021. The following coalition talks led to a governing coalition with the SDU and the GPB. The Rademacher government was sworn in by President Vincent von Schilling on September 9, 2021. Rademacher is the 16th Besmenian Prime Minister, the second woman to hold the office after Ursula Kummstein, and at 43 when taking office, the second youngest prime minister after Martin Beiter.
Rademacher hosted the 2021 C21 Freiz Summit, which took place in Freiz in November 2021.
On April 11, 2022, Besmenia's western neighbor Palingia joined the Federal Republic of Besmenia as the 14th federal state after years of negotiations.
After the Drambenburgian attack on Blaoria, which violated international law, Rademacher addressed the Besmenian population in a television speech on the evening of September 5, 2022, in which she said: "The Drambenburgian Chancellor Giorg Auster-Braustadt has made the decision to attack Blaoria. In so doing, Auster -Braustadt has attacked a free, independent and sovereign country. This is inhuman and contrary to international law. This is by nothing and no one to justify. With the attack on Blaoria, Auster-Bridestadt not only wants to wipe out an independent country, he also shatters and destroys the worldwide security order, which has been successfully built up and secured since the founding of the CCA.The Federal Republic of Besmenia stands at Blaoria's side.My thoughts and my deepest condolences to the victims of the Drambenburgian war of aggression."
On October 15, 2022, Rademacher and Tinegardian Prime Minister Svenn Trande opened the Nortuan Natural Gas Pipeline (NNPG), the largest ever infrastructure project between their two countries in Kronbeck.
