The 2025 Carlosian general election is due to take place on Tuesday, 11 November 2025. As with previous years, 858 of the 859 seats in the National Assembly are up for election. The outgoing Speaker of the National Assembly, Jorge Moran, will be automatically re-elected unless he chooses to retire. His constituency in Valender will also get one extra seat to make up for the loss in representation. With National Salvation's victory in the 2020 election, Cárlos Tobón became the longest serving President in Carlosian history and now seeks a record fourth term. National Assemblymen who are successful in the election will take their seats on 11 February 2026.
In an attempt to prevent Tobón's re-election, four of Carloso's opposition parties; the Socialist Republicans, Democratic Party, Conservative Party and Green Alternative, have agreed to form an alliance, following the abortive attempts to do so before the 2020 election.
Electoral system
Carloso is divided into 286 constituencies, each with three National Assemblymen each. Each seat approximately represents 255,000 people. For a person to be eligible to run for office, they must be a Carlosian citizen and have reached the age of 30 by the time the new National Assembly sits i.e 11 February the year following the election. The deadline for candidates to submit their nomination papers is 11 October 2025.
The outgoing Speaker of the National Assembly, Jorge Moran, will be automatically re-elected. His constituency, Valender-8, will also get one extra seat to make up for the loss in representation during his tenure as Speaker, bringing the total number of seats to 859. Due to this high representative-to-electorate ratio, it has been suggested to establish an upper house or double the size of the National Assembly. As with previous elections, it will be held under a form of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote with elimination transfers only (STV-ETO). Under this system, voters rank candidates in order of preference. The lowest ranked candidates are successively eliminated and their votes are redistributed according to the preferences of the voter. The Hare quota is used, which is where a candidate is deemed elected when they reach the number of votes required to be mathematically certain of victory i.e the total of number of votes divided by the number of seats. Alternatively, the process of elimination continues until the number of candidates remaining equals the number of seats to be filled, who are then deemed to have been elected despite not reaching the quota. A candidate may also be deemed elected if all remaining candidates below them have an insufficient number of votes for transfers to make a material difference, and therefore are mathematically certain of victory. Due to the large size of constituencies and number of candidates, the results of Carlosian general elections are often not fully known for several days.

Opinion polling
Under present regulations, polling agencies are required to include all political parties which have obtained more than 0.2% of the first-preference vote as of the last general election, provided that party stood in at least 283 constituencies in 18 of Carloso's 24 provinces. Regionalist parties are excluded from national polls. Green Alternative obtained just over 0.2% of the vote in the last general election, and so is always included in national surveys.
