The Court Gazette, formally known as the Gazettus Curiæ, is the official journal of record of the government of Great Nortend. It is issued by the Lord High Chamberlain and is under Crown copyright. Abbreviated versions of the English version of the Gazette are printed at the end of the Regal Post and certain other newspapers.

Publication

The Court Gazette is published every week-day, except on regular and full holidays. It is published on so-called 'Gazette' paper, 15″x32″ daily by the printing firm of Messrs. Cabbatt and Olman, official printers to His Majesty. On most days, the Gazette takes up at most two sheets of paper.

The official version is printed in Court Latin; however, an unofficial version is printed in an approved English translation. One copy of the Gazette is designated the principal legal copy. It is engrossed on vellum parchment and deposited for storage.

Notices include those for the :—

  • Granting of Assentus Regis to Bills of Parliament
  • Granting of confirmation of election to a priory or abbacy, or appointment to a bishopric, archdeaconry &c.
  • Issuance of writs of commission, election or death
  • Issuance of writs granting changes of name, coats of arms, heraldic achievements, titles, styles, honours or medals
  • Issuance of charters of incorporation
  • Royal proclamations in lieu of parole proclamation
  • Taking of holy orders as a clerk, deacon, priest or bishop
  • Daily engagements of the Sovereign, Royal Family and certain Officers of the Crown
  • Audiences of the Sovereign with Officers of the Crown, and Privy Council and Great Council meetings
  • Births, deaths, funerals, betrothals, engagements, marriages, weddings of the Sovereign, Royal Family, aristocracy and gentry
  • Appointments, promotions and retirements of staff to Court
  • Verdicts of trials and cases in the Royal Courts
  • Declaration of corporate or personal insolvency
  • Public auctions, hangings, sales, meetings, announcements, hearings and events

Distribution

The Court Gazette is distributed across the country. Copies may be read by members of the public at all town halls. Most newsagents also stock a number of copies of the Gazette. The price for a copy of the Gazette is twopence per sheet.
