The edition wass won by Aziz-Lutfi Garanov ft. Time Killers with the song "I've Faith in You" representing the Alezian Union. It's the first victory for the country in the contest.

This edition, three countries sent out hosting bids: Achaean Republic, Mister X and Nekoni. If successful, this would have been Achaean Republic's second hosting of the contest (after Rosario in 76), Mister X's fourth hosting (after Thatcher City in 34 and 59, and Majorium in 77) or Nekoni's third hosting (after Varea in 64 and Marina Point in 80).
