The Amathia women's national football team (Amathian: Ⰵⰽⱍⰹⱂⰰ Ⱀⰰⱌⰹⱁⱀⰰⰾⱐ ⰴⰵ Ⱇⱁⱅⰱⰰⰾ Ⱇⰵⰿⰹⱀⰹⱀ ⰰ Ⰰⰿⰰⱚⰹⰵⰹ , tr.Echipa Națională de Fotbal Feminin a Amathiei), represents Amathia in competitions of international women's football. Founded in 1950 by the councilist regime, the women's football team upheld the principles of egalitarianism and socialist excellence in sports and received considerable support from the regime. It competed in the best levels of women's football in the world and it was often counted among the best football teams of the socialist world, having its best period in international tournaments in the late 1960's and the early 1970's. Deeply affected by the political turmoil in Amathia after the Amathian Revolution, and with its funding limited, the team was nearly disbanded several times and failed to qualify to any international tournaments between 1980 and 1995. A series of better results in the later 1990's, and a development of its position and of its relation with Amathian supporters in the early 2000's led to an increase in popularity, in funding, and in performance, with the team experiencing better results in the later part of the next decade. Its qualification to the 2021 IFF Coupe du monde represents the first team the women's team has qualified to two consecutive international tournaments since 1975.
