The Rainbow College

The Rainbow College is the most influential faction of the Court of Indefinite Color. They dedicate themselves to the study and manipulation of color in its essence and fantastical properties. For inherent magic lies in all colors. The focus of their foreign affairs is creating drama and a more colorful world.

Colors

Stories tell that all colors found their beginning in the Court of Indefinite Color. It also houses many of the more esoteric colors, that elude the chains of description, like red to a blind individual. Color has meaning, color has depth, color has an influence. Some colors are hot, some are cold, some make one forget or remember, some look different depending on the time of day, the state of mind, or the angle of view, some make one feel nostalgia for a past not of oneself.

Raigen, The Origin of Rainbow

One particularly powerful courtier, and head of the Rainbow College, is the Switterlind known as Raigen, with enormous wings, like a stained-glass mosaic with all the vibrant colors that exist and even some that do not. They are said to create entire little worlds in mere moments through their ability to weave rainbows. It has earned them many Titles, including “The Origin of Rainbow”, “The Mosaic”, “The Rainbow Lens”, “The Light Splitter”, or simply “The Rainbow”.

Raigen is the owner of Prisma Spectra, the Light-Splitter Manor. It is where they reside. Occasionally one could witness the event of two gargantuan pairs of wings in all colors, spanning multiple hundred meters, unfolding themselves from Prisma Spectra. The light travelling through the wings seems to manifest physical rainbows, shifting the landscape with the force of the fantastical. Being hit with this force can cause all kinds of effects in the beholder; namely, all of them. The witness will feel every possible sensation, and even some impossible ones.

The Gild Coronal League

Nobility

Nobility is a much-desired quality to have. Nobility is a resource of potency and potential. The more of it one possesses, the more energy can be channeled to achieve goals, and the more the world will open its doors. Social, governmental, and natural laws can be bypassed much more easily. And no matter one’s condition, one always looks elegant and beautiful. Intrinsic nobility is in one’s being, one is born with it. One gains extrinsic nobility by being in servitude of an individual with even greater nobility. A peasant is suddenly of much higher status when employed by a duchess.

The Gild Coronal League

This is how the Chromafey faction of the Gild Coronal League formed. It is a hierarchical system of nobility, with the Keter on its peak. It is a system supposed to empower and protect the nobility. Its members strive for ever more wealth, status, and gilded blood.

Paliris, The Porcelain Keter

Pure and white, nobility concentrated and sealed into a small form, smooth and immaculate. Enveloped by a regal and beautiful pale sheen. Perfection that can so easily be stained. Paliris radiates immense potential. Their influence lies in their intrinsic value, an inexhaustible pool of potency. They are a resource, not a mighty force, and relatively weak and vulnerable compared to beings of equally high status. They are the key to opening any door and their boon is something grandly desired. Paliris leads the Gild Coronal League.

Paliris is a very paranoid individual, feeling fragile like glass. They leave their residence only very rarely to meet with others, and only with grandiose levels of safety precautions. No one is allowed to touch them, and only a select few are permitted to even enter their proximity. Their imperialist ambitions are driven by a desire to obliterate any little thing that could potentially threaten them, creating a perfect little safe pearl of a world.

The Pearl-Sealed Citadel

Paliris’ residence is a large, remote, difficult to access construct, The Pearl-Sealed Citadel. It may be the highest concentration of security measures in existence. Impenetrable by physical, mental, magic, abstract, or any other means. No-one should be able to traverse it without permission, and no-one ever gets permission. Even the fantasy and dreams of Paliris are sealed off.

Carmine Corrosion

The decadence of nobility is built on the suffering of the lower classes. The peasantry is viewed as a resource to use and play with. Being born low comes with many frustrations, having inherently lower value, possessing not the beautiful and marvelous spark of the ones above. From such frustration slowly developed a deep-rooted growth of disdain, an ideology of anti-elitism. The Carmine Corrosion.

Carmine Terror

The movement often expresses itself with merciless acts of terrorism. Burning, shattering, and slaughtering everything associated with some kind of upper class, often disregarding unrelated victims and collateral damage. The philosophy is less about ending the suffering of the lower class, but starting the suffering of the upper class.

Weapons against Gold

Carmine is the poison of nobility; it burns and corrupts the gilded blood. Even the supposedly untouchable were vulnerable to its influence, as contact would slowly erode their precious nobility until they were just dirt like the lowest of low. The other effective tool was the guillotine, who could easily split victims, ignoring all the protective magic gained from their nobility. These two dangers are often feared and banned by the elite.

Monsieur le Guillotine

The head of the movement is a character known as Monsieur le Guillotine. Important letters from the Carmine Corrosion are often signed with his name. Identifying him has proven very difficult. A variety of individuals have been executed claiming to be him, yet there the Monsieur never seems to vanish. The phenomenon has been attributed to the fact that the Monsieur is the personification of an idea. To kill Monsieur le Guillotine, one must kill the idea. He is often depicted in carmine colors, bloodstained with torn and dirty elegant clothes, carrying a large blade without a handle. Monsieur le Guillotine is sometimes Madame la Guillotine.

The Lyric Law Ministry

The Lyric Law

The world is permeated by an invisible law. It creates a place where agreements and promises and contracts play such an important role, where they are all binding, where they cannot easily be defied, where breaking them has consequences. It affects irony, luck, and destiny, as well as many other phenomena. It shapes stories and fables. It is influenced by things symbolic.

The Lyric Law Ministry

The Ministers have acquired a deep understanding of the Lyric Law and have the ability to manipulate and utilize this system of invisible strings. The Lyric Law Ministry provides services of writing and creating intricate contracts or giving additional binding power to agreements. It can give prophecies validity or spin fate in one’s favor. It tries to ever expand the reach and power of the Lyric Law, to areas where it currently does not apply, also making it ever more difficult to defy it. It is to be ensured that the nature of the Lyric Law remains uncorrupted and unbroken, not to be overwritten by other forces.

Reim, The Lyric Root Administrator

Reim is the Root Administrator of the Lyric Law Ministry, and the uppermost authority of the organization. Her arrival is always signaled by the enhancing of ticking, clicking, and other rhythmic sounds, like clockwork or hammering, while all irregular noise falls subtler. All piercing sounds like the shrieking of birds will start following a regular pattern. It seems like the world is producing the beat for a melody to come. Reim appears from the most unexpected places, and is always obscured by shadow, only noticeable by clear amethyst eyes. Following the rules of drama, she sets the stage for things to come and speaks in rhymes. She seems to know about things who are to happen.

The Imaginary Court

Interacting with the Imaginary

In the realm of fantasy resides the Imaginary Court. Its courtiers are not real, yet still exist, because imagination exists. When one delves deep into the imagination, through night- or daydreams, one may be so lucky or unlucky to have encounters with the Imaginary Court. The courtiers are often bizarre in nature, travelling the fantasy space, pulling strings on behalf of the Imaginary Duke of Phan. They may bring inspiration or ideas or dreams or fears.

The Imaginary Duke of Phan

Aura of the fantastical and a dreamily shifting form with undefined wings in the colors of the peacock. He opens doors to places unreal and invites one inside. The insane, delusional, and lunatic tend to have more frequent and less subtle encounters. He is rumored to have the occasional teatime with Monsieur le Guillotine.

The Peacock Palace

A fabulous place in fantasy space, with colors of azure, verdant, and gold. While wandering in the imagination, one might get invited inside. It is built on a crossroad of the imaginary world. Far paths and grand doors lead to many unreal worlds, some barred or locked. The Imaginary Duke of Phan often meets with significant individuals in a private room inside the Peacock Palace.
