People Power-Citizens' Movement (French reformed: Pouvoir populaire-Mouvement citoyen), abbreviated PP-CM (PP-MC), is a Gylian political party, part of the Non-inscrits bloc.

It is an anarchist formation based on synthesis anarchism.

History

PP-CM was founded in 1978, by anarchists angry with the Progressive Alliance's participation in the Aén Ďanez government. It explicitly adopted a strategy of pressuring the PA from the left, aiming its campaigns against PA incumbents in order to force the PA to withdraw from the coalition.

It performed well in the 1980 and 1985 federal elections, and made inroads into the PA's support in contemporary municipal and regional elections. It built close ties with the Anarchist Federation and Revolutionary Youth Union.

At the end of the wretched decade, it provided outside support from the Filomena Pinheiro government.

PP-CM benefited from the non-inscrits' breakthrough in the 1990s, and maintained its "keep left" pressure strategy against the PA. It took an ambiguous position towards the Mathilde Vieira government, supporting reforms that strengthened direct democracy while opposing the Social Partnership Program.

It gained seats in the 2020 federal election after Æþurheim's civil war became an election issue, and chose to provide outside support to the Lena Haidynraix government in exchange for stronger support for the KSA.

Ideology

PP-CM is an anarchist formation. It takes a synthesis anarchist stance, with support for anarchism without adjectives and platformism. It is broadly considered leftist due to its emphasis on anarchist unity and pressuring larger electoral blocs to move leftwards.

The use of "citizens" in the name was initially the subject of heated internal debate. Eventually, it chose to reappropriate the term in the sense of a citizen of the world rather than nationalism.

Symbols

PP-CM uses a dark shade of red as its official colour. As Elections Gylias bans parties from using the colour black as it is a reserved symbol of anarchism, the shade was chosen as the closest possible to black.

Popular support

PP-CM is generally a moderate presence in federal elections, with better performances in local elections.
