Prince Theophylactus of Beroea, EOV (Flavius Claudius Anicius Nero Theophylactus Iohannes Leo; born 12 August 1997), commonly referred to as Prince Theophylactus, is the youngest child and only son of Prince Theodosius, Duke of Beroea and Princess Marie-Antoinette of Vannois. At his birth Theophylactus was fifth in line to the line of succession to the Latin throne; he is currently thirteenth.

Biography

Theophylactus was born at University Hospital, Caelimontium, in Castellum to Prince Theodosius, Duke of Beroea and Princess Nina of Gelonia. He is the couple's only son. He was baptized at Claudii's private chapel at Palatium Supranio in Adrianople by Archbishop Marcus Nasenni, his godparents were Jason VI Augustus (his father's brother); Prince David of Gelonia (his mother's brother); Beatriz, Queen of Ostmark (his mother's sister); and Fausta Tarepia (his father's cousin). He was named Theophylactus for his ancestor Theophylactus I Augustus, Iohannes for his great-great grandfather John Anicius, Duke of Beroea, and Leo for his paternal grandfather Prince Leo, Duke of Adrianople.

Theophylactus has one sister, Teresa, whom is one year older. He and his sister spent most of their formative years moving between his father's various naval postings. In 2007, his family moved to Castellum after his father was appointed Lord Admiral.

Theophylactus was educated by private tutors throughout his primary and secondary schooling. After a gap year, he enlisted in the navy after his 18th birthday, and enrolled at Imperial Naval College at Pola in fall 2015. In his first term at Pola, he began pilot training, and while accepted for further training as a helicopter pilot, he failed to qualify as a jet pilot. In 2016, he spent the summer at a joint-Periclean Pact naval base in Lihnidos.

He graduated from Pola with a degree in PPE. He was commissioned as a Decurion upon his graduation. He placed in the top 15% of his graduating class.

After earning his commission, Theophylactus was sent to Sasora, where he was stationed aboard the frigate IMS Fortuna.

He has been courting Princess Marie-Sophie of Lyncanestria since 2018.
