Amelia was born in Utica, and raised in Utica and Castellum. She was educated at Schola Sancta Agnes, in Adrianople, and later earned a degree from Galata College, Haenna.

Amelia was a member of imperial court before her marriage, serving as a lady in waiting. She became Princess of Youth by her marriage to Constantine XX Claudius, on 18 November 2013. The couple has six children: Diana, Alexius, Philippa, Leo, Evantia, Theodora. Since her marriage, Amelia has undertaken imperial duties on behalf of the Imperial Family. She became junior empress on 28 February 2019 upon her husband's acclimation. Since her marriage, Amelia is noted for her efforts to maintain privacy from media attention.

Early life

Amelia Verrucosa Petra Diana Isabella was born on 29 September 1992 at St. Januarius Imperialis Hospitalis, in Utica, She is the youngest daughter and sixth child of Marius Verrucous and Princess Philippa of Keld. She has four older sisters, Alexandra, Andrea, Damiane, and Maria; one older brother, Damianus, and two younger brothers, Alexius and Michael. At the time of her birth, her father was Director of CN Global and worked out of Castellum. She is a member Verrucosa family, a Gentes Minores. She is the granddaughter of two former Praeses Senatus, Duke Josephus Verrucosus and Peter of Keld – the latter of whom was the incumbent at the time of Amelia's birth.

Verrucosa was baptized into the United Reformed Church on 3 November 1992, in the private chapel of Villa de Concordia, her family's primary estate located in Utica. Amelia's godparents are: Zoe Verrucosa (her father's sister); Peter, Crown Prince of Keld (her mother's nephew); ; Princess Evantia of Keld (her mother's sister); and Alexander Vitruvius (her father's cousin). She was named Amelia for her grandmother Princess Amelia of Ravenna, Petra for her grandfather Peter I, King of Keld, Diana for Diana I Anicia, and Isabella for her great-great grandmother Isobel of Gaemar.

Education

Verrucosa attended private primary and middle schools in Castellum, and briefly attended Caelimontium Sancta Sophia, a prominent ladies school in Castellum for her secondary education. In 2007, she began attending Schola Sancta Agnes, an all-girls boarding school in Adrianople, where she earned her bac. Verrucosa was a lady-in-waiting to Princess Leona while she attended Caelimontium and during summers after she attended Sancta Agnes.

Verrucosa took a gap year, and then, in 2010, enrolled at Galata College at the University of Haenna. Business and economics was initially the focus of her studies; however, after her first semester, Verrucosa changed her focus to classics and drama, though she also took economics classes. Verrucosa worked at the university library during her first fall/winter and winter/spring terms and resided in university-provided housing. In between her first and second years, Verrucosa traveled to Alanahr, Ghant, Garima, and Vardana. She also held a seasonal position at a local television station owned by Delpha Verrco, based out of Utica. Verrucosa resided in a townhouse owned by her father during her second and third years with classmates.

She graduated from Galata College in spring 2013 with degrees in classics and education. Throughout her time at university, Verrucosa was a member of the drama club and participated in at least 12 productions, most notably in Mors Constantini where she held the role of Princess Maria Tarpeia, the wife of Constantine, Prince of Youth and mother of Ascanius III Claudius. She has also appeared in a non-speaking role in the film Nox et dies and held in a minor speaking role in Immaculata. She was featured in a [blank].

Imperial Court service and post-university

Verrucosa held numerous roles at court prior to her marriage. She first served as a junior lady-in-waiting to Princess Leona during middle school and into her first year of secondary school. She later continued in this capacity during summers after she began schooling at Sancta Agnes boarding school in Adrianople. Verrucosa attended Princess Leona on foreign visits and served as a companion to the princess.

Personal life

Relationship with Constantine XX

Verrucosa met Prince Constantine at a young age due to the close ties between Verrucosa's family and the Imperial Family. Verrucosa became a lady in waiting to Constantine's sister, Princess Leona, in 2004. There was no known relationship between Verrucosa and Constantine until late June 2011, after Constantine ended his courtship with Princess Sophia of Ossonoba. Verrucosa attended the wedding of Princess Maria and Martin, Crown Prince of Dakmoor, where she and Constantine were frequently seen in each other's company. Soon after, Constantine attended a University of Castellum production of Deceperat, in which Verrucosa held a primarily role. Tabloid reports in Latium began to run stories that Verrucosa and Constantine were in a relationship, but no comment was made by the Imperial Family. Verrucosa faced extensive tabloid scrutiny due to the rumored relationship with Prince Constantine.

Tabloid pressure grew further when, a year later, Verrucosa was Constantine's personal guest in the Imperial Box during the 2012 Ludi Circenses. The incident prompted Delpha Verrco to purchase Auditio Diurna, and the firing of at least 10 staff members. The couple was frequently seen in each other's company over the next several months, along with a number of visits by Verrucosa to Olympia, where Constantine was a cadet. It wasn't until 27 January 2013 that the Imperial Household announced a courtship between Constantine and Verrucosa. The announcement resulted in a stern warning by the Imperial Household regarding the privacy of Constantine and Verrucosa due to previous harassment she had encountered. During this time, Verrucosa resided at a private townhouse in Castellum that was owned by her father.

Marriage

Verrucosa and Constantine's relationship continued, and their engagement was announced on 19 August 2013. The engagement announcement included a planned wedding date of 18 November 2013, prompting foreign tabloids to report that the short engagement was due to an unannounced pregnancy. The couple was away from the Latium during the announcement and made their first public appearance together on 30 August 2013, where they attended a performance of [play], in Castellum.

Verrucosa moved out of her townhouse following the engagement and took up residence in her own apartment at Palatium Aureum. During this time, Verrucosa began her conversion to the Imperial Church, where she received faith lessons from various spiritual leaders, including Pope Ignatius I. She was baptized into the Imperial Church, on 13 October 2013, by Pope Ignatius I at the Archbasilica of Saint John Lateran.

The couple married on 18 November 2013, at Sancta Sapientia. The day and the following day were declared bank holidays, and marked by celebratory games at Circus Albae and the Stadium Nationalis. Amelia's wedding dress was designed by Maria Insteia at Allectii. Amelia was invested as Princess of Youth and styled as "Her Imperial Highness" following the wedding ceremony. The couple hosted a reception party following the wedding, and a private reception two days later at Palatium Supranio. A second ceremony was held the following week at Hagia Euergetou, in Leonople, where Amelia was invested as Despotissa of Euneos. Amelia and Constantine moved into the Aemilia Suite at Palatium Aurea, which became their official residence, rather than Velia House, which was at the time undergoing renovations.

By December 2013, media began to report on a leak out of the Imperial Household that Amelia was pregnant. It was confirmed in January 2014 that the couple was expecting their first child. She gave birth to Diana, at Palatium Supranio, on 2 April 2014. The Imperial Household announced that the couple was expecting their second child, in late September 2014. Their first son, and her husband's heir, Alexius, was born less than a year after his elder sister, on 12 March 2015, at Palatium Supranio. Amelia gave birth to Princess Philippa on 6 June 2017, to Prince Leo on 14 February 2019, and to her fifth child Princess Evantia on 3 April 2021. Amelia's sixth child Theodora was born on 20 August 2024.

Hobbies

During school, Amelia was noted for her passion for theater and acting, as well as classical literature and philosophy. She participated in drama club during university, and since her marriage has sponsored charitable organizations and non-profits in support of these interests. Additionally, Amelia also sponsors educational groups, mental health, and, along with her husband, military veterans groups.
