The Gods are an important part of the Imeiran faith and they provides not only aid but also trouble would one displease them to the humans of the world according to the faith. To please the gods are there several rituals and prayers that are committed during worship in the large temples raised to the divine gods. However there are also countless rituals and sacrifices that people are supposed to carry out on their own to get the blessing of the gods in certain tasks.
Gods and their fields
As most Polytheistic faiths so do the holy chronically worships a large number of gods that all have their own fields that they are worshipped for. They also have a great number of followers responsible for subfields in that field. Either so are these followers demigods or rosetouched. An example about this is Bel the god of war that is the god of all war related things but under him can one find his son Belron the god of warriors and soldiers, Eralk the demigod of cavalry and Nådja the demigod of mercy.
However in general so are the gods seen as protectors of humanity and especially so do they protect mortals from evil like Demons and Elderväsenden and there are several stories about most gods facing off against evil.
Masculinity vs Femininity
Imerian gods, just like most things in the Imerian worldview take their influences from two distinct sources; a feminine one and a masculine one. Feminine qualities are those related to nature like sex, growth, freedom, healing and natural forces. Masculine qualities on the other hand are those that are more related to the male aspect of life like civilisation, laws, warfare, crafting and so on. Both sides are important and one side is not considered more important than the other but both are in constant struggle with one another and the gods display various qualities of both. However so can a male god display more or only female qualities, Arv being a good example, and female gods can display only male qualities.
Good vs Evil
Just like there are two aspects that everything take their influence from so does everything have two alignments in the chronological worldview, it is either evil or good. Here however so are the gods seen as purely on the good end of the spectrum as defenders of all of creation. On the oposite side however so can one find Elderväsendena that symbolises the eternal evil and everything wrong with the world and between this can one find spirits that can either be good or evil.
The chronological faith also says that Elderväsendena created the world and as such so was the world originally evil and lifeless but the spirits then gave it life which also added good to the world which later on became championed by the gods.
