Incarceration in Magia Regnum

Incarceration is one of the primary forms of punishment in Magia Regnum for individuals who have committed an indictable offense, crimes against magic, and contract violations. The goal of incarceration is to not only punish the offender for their actions, but also to provide rehabilitation and a means for the offender to re-enter society as a productive member. Incarceration in Magia Regnum is not solely about punishment, but also rehabilitation. Many facilities offer programs and resources designed to help offenders learn new skills, obtain an education, and engage in therapy or counseling. These programs are designed to help offenders address the underlying issues that may have led to their criminal behavior and provide them with the tools necessary to re-enter society as productive members.

In addition to rehabilitation, incarceration in Magia Regnum also serves as a means of protecting society from dangerous offenders. Detention facilities are equipped with advanced technology and magical barriers that prevent individuals from escaping and causing harm to others

Detention Bureau

In Magia Regnum, the correctional facilities are administered by the Detention Bureau of the Seigi Kaikan. These facilities are known as Kotoba correctional facilities and are reserved for offenders who have been sentenced to serve more than 24 months for crimes against magic, contract violations, or indictable offenses. Offenders who have been sentenced to less than 24 months for non-magical offenses or who are awaiting trial or sentencing may be housed in prefectural correctional facilities. These facilities are managed by local governments and are designed to hold offenders for shorter periods of time. The Kotoba correctional facilities are designed to hold offenders who have committed serious offenses and may pose a threat to society. These facilities are equipped with advanced technology and magical barriers to prevent escapes and to ensure the safety of both the staff and the inmates.

In addition to the security measures, Kotoba correctional facilities also offer rehabilitation programs designed to help offenders address the underlying issues that may have led to their criminal behavior. These programs include educational opportunities, job training, and therapy or counseling to help offenders develop new skills and strategies to avoid future criminal behavior. Prefectural correctional facilities, on the other hand, are designed to hold offenders for shorter periods of time and may not offer the same level of rehabilitation programs as the Kotoba facilities. However, they still provide a safe and secure environment for offenders to serve their sentences and may offer basic educational and vocational programs to help prepare them for re-entry into society.

Low Security	Perimeter is defined but usually there are no walls or fences. Restrictions on movement, association and privileges are minimal. Inmates are non-magical and or otherwise pose very limited risk to the safety of the community. Many are on work-release programs that allow them to hold jobs during the day.
Mid Security	Usually surrounded by chain-link fences topped with razor wire or magical wards. Magical arms are present but not normally deployed within the perimeter. Wards which dampen any magical ability and suppresses the effectiveness of power, spells, or incantation should they be cast inside; detention officers unaffected. Inmates are expected to act responsibly under regular and often direct supervision and participate in their correctional program plans. Many of these institutions have training centers and a variety of educational and treatment facilities.
High Security	High-security facilities are surrounded by high walls or fences with guard towers in strategic positions and magical wards that ensure any movement within the perimeter is detected. Multiple barriers which further dampen any magical ability and suppresses the effectiveness of power, spells, or incantation should they be cast inside rendering them useless even to detention officers. Inmates issued metal collar which cannot be removed and will issue a disabling or even fatal electric shock should they try to remove it or escape. Detention officers with magical arms and there are additional locked caches of magical arms amn other weapons within the institutions in the event of a serious disturbance. Various parts of the facility are separated by locked gates, fences and walls, wards, and spells. Inmate movement, association and privileges are strictly controlled because inmates pose a serious risk to staff, other offenders and the community. Some inmates live in segregation units, due either to behavioral problems or out of concern that they will be harmed by other inmates, usually as a result of their crimes. Typically those that are inflicted with Hoka Fever or malicious contracts
Other security levels and considerations
Multi-Level Security	Offenders with serious hoka fever are accommodated in Multilevel security facilities that combine the features of two or more of the security levels described above depending on the level of the corruption and rehabilitation
Special Housing Unit	The highest level of security is reserved for the small percentage of extremely violent magical girls who cannot function safely at the maximum-security level. This is also typically where Sono Shoujo are sent.

The facility is also notable for its facilities which are used to house and exterminate Sono Shoujo. Shūten Prison is of the highest level in Magia Regnum and thus its location highly confidential and its exact roster kept strictly secret. It is reported that inmates are confined 23 hours per day in single cells and are under 24-hour supervision, carried out intensively. Due to the population being deemed the most dangerous and in need of the tightest control, including prisoners whose escape would pose a serious threat to national security, magical girls are issued a standard uniform which includes a metal collar which cannot be removed and will issue a fatal electric shock should they try to remove it or escape.
TBA	Taihoku Magical Girl Detention Facility	Hilaria 07, 1534	Yugashoto	The Taihoku Magical Girl Detention Facility is a high-security prison located in Yugashoto, just outside the town of Dongsan. Taihoku consists of five two-level housing units. Each unit has four 32-cell ranges surrounding a central dayroom, where inmates can gather during permitted times outside their cells. The prison's outer perimeter is secured by a double line of fencing, with a magical barrier between the fences for added security. One notable feature of Taihoku is its Special Confinement Unit, which houses magical girls who have been sentenced to death. The facility is also one of the few in the Magical Girl Realm that has the capability to carry out an execution. However, Taihoku does not handle Sono Shoujo executions.
TBA	Kiewa Magical Girl Detention Facility	Umbra 28, 1532	Shimabuchi	Kiewa is a massive facility that comprises six two-level housing buildings, each of which contains 128 cells arranged in four 32-cell ranges around a central dayroom. In total, the facility has 768 general housing cells that are designed to accommodate a wide range of magical girls who have been incarcerated for various crimes against magic or contract violations. In addition to the general housing cells, Kiewa also has 120 "special housing cells" that are reserved for severely corrupted magical girls who require extra security measures. These cells are equipped with additional magical wards and barriers to prevent any escape attempts or magical activity. The facility also houses several one- and two-story buildings within the perimeter which provide various prison programs for the inmates, including educational and vocational training, counseling services, and recreational activities. To ensure maximum security, Kiewa is surrounded by a triple security fence, magical wards, and a system of detection spells. These measures are in place to prevent any unauthorized entry or escape attempts from the facility.
TBA	Yunbetsu Magic Penitentiary	Lyncis 11, 1430	Shaoshan	Yunbetsu Magic Penitentiary is a correctional facility located in Shaoshan, between the towns of Xianmen and Quancheng. It is the oldest facility in the Magia Regnum prison system and is notorious for its harsh conditions, earning the nickname "Mount Misery" from its inmates. Originally designed to house 800 inmates in five housing units, the facility consists of six buildings facing each other with a larger administrative building in the center, surrounded by a central yard. The prison is surrounded by a highly dangerous electrical ward that is fatal to anyone who attempts to escape. Over the years, the prison has undergone several renovations and expansions to improve its facilities and conditions. Despite these efforts, however, Yunbetsu remains one of the most challenging correctional facilities to manage in the Magia Regnum.
TBA	Fumegawa Detention Facility	Pax 7, 1578	Asahoro	Fumegawa Detention Facility is prison complex located in Asahoro. The facility is primarily designated for non-magical inmates who are considered to be the most dangerous and in need of the tightest control. The prison is surrounded by high walls and fences with multiple levels of security and surveillance systems. In addition to the main facility, Fumegawa Detention Facility also has a detention center for pretrial and holdover inmates who are awaiting trial or transfer to another facility. The center is equipped with medical and mental health services to provide care to those in need. The facility also has a satellite prison camp for low-security magical girl inmates. The camp is located within the secure perimeter of the main facility but is designed to provide a less restrictive environment for inmates who pose a lower risk to society. The camp provides educational and vocational training programs to help inmates prepare for their reentry into society.
