The Royal Geographic Quarterly is the official magazine of the Royal Geographic Society. It is published quarterly, four times a year, and is distributed to society members, and to the public in bookshops and news-stands. It is hard-covered and bound in cloth, although premium editions bound in leather are also made. The Quarterly includes illustrated articles on human and natural geography worldwide, as well as articles on nature, cultures and history. There is an emphasis on Erbonian geography, given the focus of the Royal Geographic Society. Articles are written by members and fellows of the society. The Quarterly has a twin publication, The Royal Geographic Journal, which focusses on academic papers.
