The Volurna is a river in northern Amalfi. It is the longest river in the provinces of Occidens Borealis and Oriens Borealis and the fifth longest in the country at ___ km. It is crossed by numerous bridges between its source and where it enters the sea in Trasimene.
The Volurna has been vital to the prosperity of Trasimene and other cities of the Amalphian Plain for thousands of years. While a major barrier to overland travel, the river carried large volumes of freight downriver to Amalfi's capital as the republic grew slowly westward.
