Anicii dynasty
The Anicii family traces their ancestry back to days of the Latin kingdom of Alba and were first elected to the throne following the Great Council of 1842 following the death of Emperor Michael VII and his lack of any heirs. Alexander was eventually selected as Emperor, ahead of other claimants such as Prince Leo of Ghant and Leo Claudius, Duke of Adrianople.

Claudii dynasty
Following the overthrow and execution of Constantine XIX by the National Social Popular Party, Latium was embroiled in a civil war. The Imperial war effort was lead by Jacobus Claudius, Duke of Adrianople, as his son Leo Claudius betrothed to Empress Diana. Diana's son, Jason, was the first sole Latin monarch of the Claudii dynasty in nearly 1000 years.
