The Republic of Acdia, most commonly known as Acdia, is a nation located in western Nortua, bordered to the north by Beatavic, to the south by Irane, and sharing a maritime border with Birnir in the Konkurso Gulf. Occupying the upper half of the Acdian peninsula, its southeastern coastal islands run along the Nortua Sea. The eastern half of the country is largely mountainous, with the southern Chezian Alps defining much of the country's geography. The western half is much smoother with rolling plains and lowlying forested areas. The capital city is Menetraki, and the largest city is the port of Purac. The country has a population of 6,822,000. The majority of the residents are ethnic Acdians, a Southwest Chezian people. Albans form a significant minority at around 25%, followed by Suðurs, Grosis, Ceses and a few other minorities.

The oldest traces of civilization in Acdia date to over 800,000 years ago. Factions of kingdoms sprung up throughout Western Nortua in the early 400s, with some of the most powerful being in the Acdian peninsula. The Trirousi kingdom took hold over large swaths of western Nortua, including much of Beatavic and Albanovi, from 500 to 982 AD, with constant warfares plaguing the region. In 1012, Florentijn Stuiverman established the Beatavician empire and conquered Acdia. A fifth of Acdia's population died in the Great Acdia Slaughter during this time. When Justano II conquered Beatavic in 1599 and brought it under the Constantioan empire, Acdia became a free state. Acdia remained largely isolated from regional affairs for the next 400 years, thanks to a strong army and heavily defended northern border, and it remained neutral during the Great Nortuan War and the World War. However, Acdia participated in the Chezian War (1992-95) on the side of the Chezian Coalition Forces. In the aftermath of the war, Acdia's involvement in regional diplomacy increased significantly, and in 2005 it joined the Sotoan Basin Union.

The country is a unitary constitutional democracy, currently led by President Soib Kishiev. It is a member of multiple international organizations, such the CCA and CTO. Acdia is an upper-middle-income country and has undergone considerable economic reform since the 1990s in developing an open economy. It is a developing country and provides social security, a universal health care system, and free primary and secondary education to its citizens.

Cuisine

Tavče gravče

The country's cuisine is representative of that of the southwestern Nortuan peninsulas —reflecting Sotoa Sea and North-central Adulan influences, and to a lesser extent Pian Islands and Cadairi ones. The relatively warm climate in Acdia provides excellent growth conditions for a variety of vegetables, herbs and fruits. Thus, Acdian cuisine is particularly diverse. The country's cuisine is also noted for the diversity and quality of its dairy products, wines, and local alcoholic beverages, such as rakija. Tavče gravče and mastika are considered the national dish and drink of Acdia, respectively. Some other important dishes include Šopska salad, an appetiser and side dish that accompanies the main meal, ajvar, stuffed peppers, pastrmajlija and others.

Sport

Football, handball, and basketball are the most popular sports in Acdia. The Acdia national football team is controlled by the Football Federation of Acdia, and has reached the qualifying rounds for three World Cups, though they have never reached the knockout stages. Their home stadium is the Yoše Toeski Arena. In 2020, the national team qualified for NFC Championship, their first major tournament in the country's history.

Handball is the other important team sport in the country. Acdian clubs have enjoyed success in Nortuan competitions. The country's men's national team has appeared in the Nortuan and World championships multiple times.

The Acdia national basketball team represents Acdia in international basketball. The team is run by the Basketball Federation of Acdia, the governing body of basketball.

Acdia also takes part in the Olympic Games. Participation in the Games is organised by the Olympic Committee of Acdia.
