Talvezout has particpated in the Worldvision Song Contest a total of 38 times, having first debuted in Worldvision 35 with Laura's "Fire" placing 24th in a field of 39. The island nation would participate in Worldvision for a straight 17 contests, before withdrawing in Worldvision 52. Talvezout would compete on and off for multiple contests, before withdrawing completely after the 108th Worldvision Song Contest. Despite RTVT's withdrawal, the contest remains popular in the islands of Talvezout, with multiple calls for nation to return.
Talvezout's record in the Worldvision Song Contest has seen mixed results. The nation has never won Worldvision, currently holding a record for the longest participation without a win (38 entries). Talvezout has placed within the top 10 11 times, placing 2nd twice (Worldvision 38 and 46). Talvezout has also hosted Worldvision 5 times, having hosted in Yaru-Bzheriut (44), Phoda (48 and 79) and Ylfa (62 and 70). The nation is tied with Kalosia for the second most hostings of the Worldvision Song Contest, only being beaten by Polkopia and Britonisea (having both hosted a separate 6 times).
History
Pre-Entry
Following the promulgation of the 5th Talvezian Constitution after the 1948 - 1949 Talvezian Constitutional Convention, one of the major goals of the new Labor government was the establishment and promotion of a national Talvezian broadcasting institute. While Talvezout already had multiple broadcasting groups, none of them fully encompassed the Talvezian islands. The most popular - Talvezia Television y Radio - only stretched to cover the main island and its local environs. Sensing a need to be fulfilled, the Labor government called for and funded the establishment of a national broadcasting group - Talvezout Radio and Television (TRT).
Multiple initiatives were discussed during the many meetings that compromised the formation of TRT. Of which, the one that proved the most consistently popular during these internal votes was the idea of a national entertainment contest. During the 1950 TRT General Assembly Meeting, the formal proposition of creating a national talent contest was voted on, with it being approved by a unanimous vote. The variety aspect of the contest was dropped, with a majority of members agreeing that a contest designed to showcase the variety of Talvezian music styles would be an ideal “starter” program for the fledgling broadcasting group. TRT eventually settled on 1955 as the target year for the first edition of the then-unnamed song contest, with the interval five years being used to promote the newly minted broadcasting group in addition to planning and setting up the music festival.
Debates over the naming of the contest consumed the first planning years. A variety of names were proposed, with the title “Festival de la celebración de la canción Talveziana” being chosen as the final moniker in 1952; the more widely used nickname of “TalvCión Fest” wouldn’t be widely used until the 1970s.
Following the continued widespread success of TalvCión Fest, TRT began to look outwards at other international musical broadcasting ventures. After multiple inquiries and attempts at entry into various international events, Worldvision became TRT’s new main focus. After an unsuccessful attempt to join in Worldvision 34, TRT got the go ahead to join the renowned song contest for Worldvison 35.
At Worldvision (35 - 52)
Talvezout made its debut at the 35th Worldvision Song Contest. Following an internal search, Laura was chosen to represent the nation with her song “Fire”, placing 24th in a field of 39 entries. While Laura experienced middling success at Worldvision itself, TRT saw record viewership; an estimated 50% of the Talvezian population tuned in to watch the Worldvision Song Contest.
The international competition would continue to see high ratings and popularity in Talvezout, being bolstered by TRT sending popular singers and achieving multiple top 10 results. During this time period, Talvezout also achieved their highest placing - 2nd place - twice, having placed runner up at Worldvision 38 and Worldvision 46. Most notably, the nation actually tied for 1st at Worldvision 38; Izmedu would go on to win the tie-breaker (and contest) as they had received more overall votes compared to Talvezout (19 votes for Izmedu versus 16 for Talvezout). TRT would also make multiple hosting bids for Worldvision during this time period, with Worldvision coming to the nation for Worldvision 45 and 48.
Interest in the contest, however, would begin to wane as Talvezout would fail to replicate its previous success, with a string of middling placings dampening enthusiasm in Worldvision. While Talvezout’s hosting of the 48th Worldvision Song Contest would temporarily revive interest in the song contest, a middle of the table placement alongside political controversy over how prioritized the contest was over other media events would kill any remaining excitement there was for Worldvision. Following 3 more entries with continued middle placements, TRT would announce that they would be withdrawing from Worldvision.
The announcement was met with a mixture of surprise and vindication in Talvezout. While the contest had been losing popularity in the nation, its viewership still remained strong and multiple well-known artists had competed in the song contest. However, political and media consensus at the time indicated that the national mood was turning against Worldvision. As a result, TRT made the choice to pull out to focus on other projects.

Returning to Worldvision (WV 69 - 93)
In the lead-up to Worldvision 69, a joke petition to send the avant garde The Ylfa War Choir by comedian Juan Reirado wound up attracting over a million signatures. Following internal debate at TRT, it was decided to send the group to Worldvision 69, as long as they could self-fund their own trip. While the group placed in the middle of the table once more, Worldvision 69 wound up becoming a major success, with TRT managing to successfully Worldvision once more in Ylfa for Worldvision 70 following renewed interest. While TRT would withdraw from Worldvision 71 due to internal restructuring, the song contest had managed to win back an audience in Talvezout, with three back to back top 10 placings and record viewership. TRT withdrew once more following a successful 5th place at Worldvision 74 due to budget cuts; however, a return for Worldvision 77 would sustain the excitement generated by the song contest.
Most notably, Worldvision 79 would be the most successful Worldvision Song Contest in Talvezout to date; the nation would score a podium finish at 3rd place while generating over 1.2 billion Tavares in revenue for the city of Phoda. The 79th Worldvision Song Contest would win multiple awards within Talvezout for various live production and event categories, with The Sephrada Times naming it “probably one of the finest musical events every seen within our nation”.
However, The following contests would see a return to form for Talvezout as the nation would continue to place middle of the table once more. Multiple entries would continue to place in the middle of the pack, with the nation withdrawing after their much hyped entry placed middle of the table at Worldvision 84. TRT elected to withdraw due to the perceived diminishing returns gained by competing in the contest, as well as a lack of any success similar to the hosting of Worldvision 79.
Multiple attempts at making a successful return to Worldvision have either stalled or failed; while the nation would return to the contest thrice (WV 87, 93, and 108) all of these entries would be spaced by periods of withdrawal from the contest. Currently, Radiotelevisión Talvezia, the newly formed successor broadcaster to TRT, has not made any attempts to return to Worldvision.
Renewed Interest
While Talvezout is currently not competing at Worldvision, there remains a renewed surge of interest in returning to the contest. Worldvision has proven itself to be extremely popular in Anthrovezia, with the nation currently fielding attempts to return to the contest. Notably, Anthrovezia Radio & Television’s coverage of the Worldvision Song Contest has gone viral multiple times, thanks to the live commentary provided by musical duo 2 High 4 Heaven. Various artists have also called upon RTVT to plan a return to Worldvision, with a recent petition receiving over a million signatures online.
