The foreign relations of the Republic of Valkea represent the Valkean government's relations and interactions with other countries. These are conducted through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It maintains full diplomatic relations with various Astyrian countries as well as nations around the world.

Valkea has been considered a major power in Northern Lorecia since the 17th century. However, since the founding of the Republic in 1923, Valkea maintained a policy of non-alignment with other Astyrian countries to avoid getting entangled in foreign wars. The rise of the Kansallist Party saw many countries initially refuse to recognize the new republic, but friendly diplomatic and trade relations were initiated under the administration of Markku Vuotola, which saw these countries formally recognize the Valkean state in the 1930s. Under Vuotola, the country rapidly modernized and became a major industrial power.

After the end of the 2nd Great Astyrian War, Valkea sought closer relations with the Astyrian Treaty Organization (ATO) and the East Astyrian Treaty Alliance (EATA). Actual relations briefly worsened during Valkea's acquisition of nuclear weapons in 1968, but returned to normal after their nuclear program was cancelled in 1973. After the fall of the Kansallist government, Valkea's relations with the wider region warmed significantly, paving the way for the country's rise as a major economic power in the 1980s and 1990s. It is currently a member of several organizations in Astyria, such as the Lorecian Community, the E10, the T5, and the Vinstrian Union.

Ostrothia was part of the Kingdom of Valkea since 1350, when the Duchy of Ostrothia was established. The rise of nationalism in Ostrothia, discontent with Valkean rule, and the outbreak for the Valkean Civil War provided an opportunity for the Ostrothians to secede from Valkea. Independence was declared in 1917, beginning the War for Ostrothian Independence. In 1923, the Republic of Valkea under Hannu Sibelius recognized Ostrothia's independence, but formal diplomatic relations were never established between the two until 1936.

Khyragus The Khyragusian Technate and the Republic of Valkea have had a historically close relationship since the 1940s. However, Valkea has consistently rebuffed petitions to join the Technocratic Union, citing ideological differences as the primary reason, although they continued to maintain close economic and diplomatic ties.
Kobolis Valkea began participating in the Atomic Power Peace Program in 1954, which allowed Kobolian technology and expertise to help jumpstart Valkea's civilian nuclear program. This culminated in the completion and activation of the Tuulos nuclear power plant in 1962 and Onkisalmi nuclear power plant in 1964. Valkea pulled out from the program shortly after. Relations dramatically worsened when Valkea began to pursue a nuclear weapons program in 1961, reaching a nadir with their first nuclear test in 1968.
