The Berean Defence Treaty Association (BDTA; Hesurian: Organisation des Bereäischen Verteidigungsvertrages, OBVV; Lavish: Organização do Tratado de Defesa de Béria, OTDB), also known as the Berean Defence Treaty or East-West Alliance for its geographical distribution, is an intergovernmental military alliance. It was founded on 17 June 1944 on the principle of collective security in response to worsening relations with the Mageiros League which had been founded two years earlier during the Melasian Crisis, aimed to combat the threat of Cuthland's influence and X. Since, it has engaged in multiple military actions, international and global affairs, and maintained dialogue programs to ensure the national security of its members.
The five member states of the BDTA do not use the alliance for solely defense purposes, but also as a medium for international diplomacy, joint military actions and training exercises, and as an enforcing body for the resolutions of the Assembly of Nations Security Council, in which its largest military powers Falland, Lavaria and Mascylla maintain permanent seats. The Treaty of Kirmouth which serves as the foundational document of the BDTA officially states that all its members "aspire to work and cooperate towards and for peace, democracy, freedom and the rule of law". Currently, the countries of X are recognized by the BDTA as aspiring member states, while Temaria, Melasia and Yudong are so called Special Observer Partners of the organization.
The BDTA headquarters includes the Berean Treaty Council, the main administrative and executive body of the organization, and its immediate subordinate organs, the Continental Security Committee (CSC) and Joint International Staff (JIS), located in Sydenham, Falland since 1957. The two major military commands within the CSC are the Supreme Commander Headquarters or SUCO, located in Basella, Sarrac, and the Berean Strategic Command Headquarters (BSC) in Pereuth, Mascylla.
