Valentia Verrucosa, CI (born 17 September 1987) is a Latin courtier, noblewoman and politician currently serving as a Count-in-aid of Council. She was previously a member of Castellum Assembly for Appia Palpatina from 2014 to 2018. She is the eldest child of Florentine Verrucosus and Madeleine of Philippopolis.

Verrucosa graduated from Ariminum College in 2008. She became the youngest member of the Castellum Assembly upon her 2013 election, and again when she was re-elected in 2017. She was a lady-in-waiting to Princess Maria of Latium from 2003 until 2005, and again in 2008 to 2010. In 2018, she was appointed to the Emperor's Council as a Count-in-aid of Council.

Early life and education

Flavia Verrucosa Valentia Zoe Damiane was born on 17 September 1987 at University Hospital, in Caelimontium, Castellum ab Alba, Florentine Verrucosus and Sydalene noblewoman Madeleine of Philippopolis. Her paternal grandparents are Latin Consul and statesman Duke Joseph Verrucosus and businesswoman Lady Damiane Vitruvia. Both her grandfather and father served in the Latin Senate for the Conservative Party. Her family owns the controlling stake of Verrucosus Holdings. At the age of 5, she was a flower girl at the wedding of her aunt Zoe Verrucosa to then Jason, Prince of Youth.

She attended St Maria's School for Ladies, in Castellum, and earned her bac from Our Lady of Holy Wisdom, an all-girls school, in 2007. After a gap year, she began attending Ariminum College. She was student council president her second and third years at Ariminum, and was president of the university's Progressive Party student chapter in her final year. Along with other students at various universities in Latium, she co-founded the Latin Youth Senate, an organization aimed at representing the young people of Latium; she continues to serve as an executive director and patron. She was an intern for then Consul Constantine Otacilius during during the summer between her second and third years.

Political career

Before entering elected politics, Verrucosa worked as a researcher and analyst for the Senate Committee for Communications. She resigned from this role in January 2013 after announcing her candidacy for Castellum Assembly.

Castellum Assembly

In April 2013, she was elected to Castellum Assembly as the twelfth ranked member of the Progressive Party list. Her position on the list initially drew controversy because her father was a Senator for the Conservative Party. She was the youngest member of the Assembly, at 26 years old. Verrucosa was known as a moderate early in her tenure as an Assemblywoman and often voted unexpectedly according to party whips.

During the 2015 Progressive Party leadership election, Verrucosa endorsed XXXX, who was eventually defeated by now leader Flavia Lepera. Verrucosa left the party in early 2016, citing disagreements with the direction Lepera was leading the party. She remained an independent until May, when she joined the Conservative Party following Alexander Pompilius's election as leader. She was placed on the United Latium closed list ahead of the 2017 election, and retained her seat. She was once again the youngest member of the Assembly. Prior to being placed on the 2017 United Latium list, she was a primary candidate for the Mayoral election of the same year. However, she failed to earn the nomination and endorsed the prospective party candidate.

Emperor's Council appointment

In October 2018, Verrucosa stepped down as an member of Castellum Assembly to accept an appointment to the Emperor's Council as a Count-in-the-aid of Council. Prior to this, her court experience was limited to a sporadic tenure as a lady-in-waiting to Princess Maria of Latium. She was appointed by her cousin, Emperor Constantine XX to advise on matters relating to the Senate, and is known to act as a liaison between the Consul's office and Imperial court.
